Frank Ntilikina is not the Knicks PG of the future. I just don't see it. How many more birthdays is he going to need to have to even show flashes of being able to take his defender off the dribble? Even more telling is the fact that he has trouble advancing the ball up court under aggressive pressure. His best bet is to work on his 3 ball and become a better passing Danny Green.

KP is a #2. He's not durable and fades by all-star break every year. He'd be much better as a 1B on a team unless he puts on about 20 more pounds which I doubt. As long as you can put a strong 6'5 guard on him and shut him down, he'll never be able to carry a team further than an 8th seed at best. You can't put a Wes Matthews or Marcus Smart on a Karl Towns or Anthony Davis. Davis has bulked up some since entering the league. Unless KP starts juicing, I don't think he has the body type or the melanin to add that type of muscle.

Call it a heel turn, call it whatever you want. But I'm calling it like I see it. :yeshrug:

As of now I’m leaning towards the 1B as well but there’s still time for him to adjust him game and lifestyle to become suited to being a #1 option. But in regards to frank I think you’re being to hasty, as said before it’s dude’s rookie year, he’s only 19 and there’s other ways to take his opponents one on one. He can learn from Tony Parker or another shifty pg, he can workout in the states over the next few offseasons. Worst comes to worse he still can be a great defensive player for us.

It's important to remember the kid missed all of summer league and almost all of preseason to go with no NCAA experience. He's not even at 1000 nba minutes and his biggest issue when he gets in the paint has been that he's too focused on finding the cutter. He'll need a secondary ball handler to help him out, especially early but the jury is out on him being a primary playmaker. I'm still optimistic about it. His array of no-looks, skip passes and simple but effective decisions (he's so much quicker to reset when he can't throw an entry pass compared to everybody else on the team for example) are all making appearances...not a ton of appearances but if you're talking flashes, it's virtually nightly that you'll at least get a glimpse of clever passing or really nice peripheral vision. He has the framework of a true PG but it'll take reps, smart development and good habits to get there. My fear is that I don't think Horny or this system is the best situation for him to develop in.

Way too early for that type of Frank analysis but I agree with you about KP. He's not numero uno material yet like we thought.
