I'd like to state since tim went down...we have no guard that can consistently beat a big man to the rim when they switch off to KP in a pick and roll situation
when you have player that doesnt allow teams to switch bigs onto him...it makes pick and rolling a hell of a lot easier for KP to get easy buckets
a kp/tim pick and roll is by far more effective than any other guard we have
they just switch bigs onto jack, frank, lee...cause they cant beat that big man consistently....then they have the little man chip KP off before he can actually dive into the paint for an easy bucket....the little man stops kp...he goes into isolation a lot...and the double comes.
its all a trickle down effect.
Logically while extremely skilled...KP is still a big man and you need to pair an aggressive player in the pick and roll to get the most effectiveness about of his pick and pops/rolls.
Frank is getting more comfortable...but he needs to develop into more a threat to go downhill....and I think he will....he's 19.
To give some perspective...you know why harden throws 6-7 alley oops to capella a game?....teams respect his ability to get to the rim...and they zone in on trying to stop him.... we need tim back for even as flawed as he is as a player and how much he settles....he's still the most explosive wing we had.
Theres no reason for an athletic fluid 7'3 player to not get an alley oop atleast 1 a game.
a player that commands the amount of attention that frank got here will free up KP
this is terrible defense by a young kings team......but if frank can get guards to go OVER screens....while still making the big keep eye contact on him incase he drives...it will lead to more easy buckets like this alley.
he should be getting a lot more easy looks to offset the difficult looks he takes...to round out his percentages

damn that was a long post
