If you really think about it , there really hasn't been a BIG jump in graphics in about 7 years.
It's all about to change this year with VR. Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PSVR will change the game.
Has not been since the 360 dropped, imo.
Imagine if Nintendo succeeds in VR with NX?
the quality of the games outside of graphics were a bit shaky staring off. i'll give you a prime example. I remember nba live on the genesis and nba live on ps1. that ps1 gameplay was awful on a lot of fronts. the genesis game play was light years ahead of it. it took awhile for it to catch up.

Honestly going from SD to HD was bigger than going 2D to 3D for me. While Mario 64/Zelda 64/FF7 blew my mind, seeing Ghost Recon on 360 in HD for the first time had me all the way fukked up

Breh, when I first seen Mortal Kombat with real characters I thought that would be the epitome of video game graphics. I was like there's no way in hell they can top this
To be honest with you, 3d art still doesn't capture the emotion, environment or feeling that 2d art does. I'm beginning to wonder if it ever will.

I had a Sega Saturn , i only played the Saturn a few times since it was impossible to find games in my area , But it felt like a huge leap
