That rule was never really enforced intill Bill Napoleon got his panties in a bunch about the Patriots mauling the Colts receivers in the 03 playoffs.

And after the 03 playoffs Polian complained to the NFL(which he was also a member of the competition committee), and had the 5 yard bump rule "re-emphasized".


The rule to pats fans is known as the Ty Law rule, or also the bytch ass colts can't beat the Pats rule..
