fukked around and got to day 21. Longest streak since January.

Today was a test from above though. At home with the Masters. Did that annoying thing where I want to find NSFW content for no reason. Should make it through the night but :wow:

Where we at?

33 Days. One month down and I can unequivocally say NoFap on its own is an 'overblown' internet phenomenon. Outside of significant time gains & marginal willpower control - your not going to make 'life changing' improvement. I decided to take the entire month of January on the same schedule (nutrition/exercise/routine) bar improved sleep. There's been no gain in alertness, improvement in mood, concentration and/or energy. If this are sources of your motivation on this journey I'm sorry to say its not happening. I have a suspicion that people who take active steps to NoFap do so alongside other self improvement metrics and the overall gain of the activities is what produces greatest benefit. For those of you who are starting out don't play yourself get good diet, workout & recovery plan going.

This should be reason enough to do it breh. If you add up the time we spend trying to find that "perfect" scene to jack it to then you'd probably find a whole nother year or so in extra time. What you do with that extra time is up to you.

You can spend the extra time sharpening your skills at whatever trade you employ, learning a new language, buckling down on your studies, touching base with family members you haven't caught with in a while or just go to an event in your city you normally wouldn't be caught dead at, who knows you might meet some cool people there. There's tons of stuff you can fill that extra time up with to change your life breh

Absolutely. However, there are those who partake in NoFap primarily in search of other benefits. In my case the psychological gains; alertness, positive mood, mental clarity; that are promised within the first month by various respondents. Yet, one month in and there was nothing for me. Though, in hindisght I’d say the biggest & underapprreciated gain I had was willpower. The mental fortitude from inhibiting desire is worth the price of admission. Once you back slide it becomes monumental task to restart. IMO once you embark on NoFap its best to have a self improvement mindset & activities ready rather than NoFap being the sole item on your checklist.

This case could be made for almost any leisure activity people do. Playing video games, watching TV or movies. This entire thread demonizes something that in and of itself is benign.

We live in a world of extremes though where moderation doesn't even occur to people. Either it's you do it to death or you don't do it at all. I question the solution to beating an addiction being quitting cold turkey. It takes a certain amount of willpower to walk away from anything but after a few weeks to a month it becomes habit. the problem lies in that if one ever went back to what they quit they'd probably relapse because honestly they went from exercising a little will power to just coasting on habit.
