I too make my own, but a pint of heavy cream alone costs as much as a container of store bought ice cream. I love ice cream too much to be a snob about it. I'll still buy a few of the brands listed when they are on sale.I make my own ice cream and the shyt is

Anywho the best store brand flavor of all times is Haagen Daaz Honey salted caramel almond
Put some heavy cream in a mixer.
Mix until somewhat stiff.
Add in a can of condensed milk.
Add whatever flavor you want (vanilla, chocolate, m&ms, etc)
Put into a container and freeze.

I wouldn't get too caught up on the bio-engineered food ingredients bit.
Lemons are bio-engineered; they don't occur naturally.

In fact, 100% of the produce we buy is "bio-engineered" depending on how far back in the plants geneaology you wanna go. Yes, even organic.
funny enough i was at a publix earlier today looking for another product and remembered this thread and the flavor. didn't see it but I'll have to be on the hunt for it next time i stop by one or a walmart.
