Check out this clip from the Face Off that's supposed to air on 09/01....Spence told porter " you got talent not skills, talent is God given, skills are earned in the gym, and u don't have skills"

he possibly could've carried him, I know spence could've have turned up on him and knocked him out. He was in a lose lose situation because if he would've knocked him people would've made excuses and said he was too big, but even though he put on a masterclass boxing clinic, they still say "spence couldn't knock little mikey out"......which Is why I feel is about to make an example out of porter
And it helps that he doesn't like Porter. Spence kept talking about how much he respected Mikey. I think he liked Mikey. He even went out his way to tell Mikey not to take the fight, knowing what would happen. That's not common. Most fighters would have accepted the fight immediately and took the challenge as disrespect.

yea I think he had a certain level of respect for mikey and his brother....he def wants to hurt porter, just for porter talking like they both are on the same level skills wise when everyone knows they aren't.....he will make an example out of porter and beat on porter like no other opponent has. Shawn gonna find out real quick and I cant wait

On first watch I also thought Spence carried mikey a little. But after a few rewatches I changed my mind on it. Spence most definitely went in for the kill in rounds 9, 10, and 11. I don't see how anybody can watch these rounds and think Errol was taking it light. Dude was throwing every single punch with bad intentions. And watching Spence interviews he definitely ain't the type to take it easy on anybody.

Spence is legitimately good friends with lamont Peterson and he didn't take it light on him at all. I see no reason why he would let mikey live and not lamont. Dude wants that kill every time he goes in the ring. He just has that type of mentality.

I don't see any "carrying" going on in these rounds. Errol was throwing everything he had at mikey :yeshrug:

even though mikey was outclassed, he def proved that he a tough a$$ fighter, his body took a lot of punishment and I'm sure he was feeling it for weeks after the fight...might've even pissed blood for days

Porter is gonna come head first but he will get hurt trying to rough up Spence.

Spence didn't really hit him with anything heavy though. They weren't really power punches but just punches to stay active and wear Mikey down

Spence didn't carry Mikey. Mikey is overrated as a fighter, but he is a good enough fighter that if he goes complete shell mode -- he'll survive. It's the Adrien Broner theorem. If Mikey had opened up, he would've been stopped. Even with him being on the defensive 100% the fight probably still should have been stopped by his corner. They let him take additional punishment on some moral victory shyt. Porter is never going to fight that kinda style. He's going to actually try and he's going to pay dearly for it.

Spence should win but it will be interesting. Porter is still a live dog and even if it's likely Spence wins it's a good question how he does it.
So far when he met another 147er he had problems but eventually broke him down (Brook). Porter is not the same style as Brook, he is sturdy af though with a good chin but probably easier to hit . But it's hard to see how Porter can be successful here, he is a strong dude but he probably isn't strong enough to outwrestle Spence (he couldn't outwrestle Brook either) and while imo his newly enforced tricky hopping-up jabbing style works better than many give credit for him it's hard to see him outboxing Spence from the outside.

Porter's best chance is probably to try to lure Spence into his range and then unleash his hooks and uppercuts, Spence likes to work the body which is a strong asset but also leaves him open in range more often. Just like Bud's, Spence's chin is a little questionable too. It can't be so bad though but I remember he was hurt by Lartei years ago.

Spence is younger, more skilled, bigger, etc... and has more ways to win this than Porter in my opinion. I'm going by a Spence UD but a late stoppage wouldn't surprise me either.

If Porter wins somehow though I think that's gonna happen by stoppage. Very hard to see him stop Spence though

There's no hype for this fight whatsoever. Fox is slacking. They need to release that Face Off shyt already.

It's probably because there is a strong argument this shouldn't be on PPV. Spence is somewhat of a name, somewhat but he aint a big enough name yet to carry and sell a PPV by himself. Most people outside of here don't know who the fukk Shawn Porter is, they don't know why they should buy this fight even though aint neither one of them scared to mix it up.

True. I'll be surprised if this breaks 300k buys.
