9/28 PBC on FOX PPV: Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter (WBC/IBF Welterweight Title unification)

This tough fight is more of a reflection of Porter then Spence. Porter has never been white washed, nor knocked out, and has only been knocked down twice. He's extremely awkward, rugged and oozes heart.

One thing is for sure, Spence better cut down on his bad habits outside of the Ring. Two fights in a row he has looked winded. Tonight he looked extremely dry to me. The energy just wasn't there. He seriously needs to cut out the drinking and blowing up between fights. Danny is an easier fight for Spence, seeing as he isn't as awkward and is more hittable.

Spence still beats Crawford and Canelo, but he will have to be in peak condition to do it.

I just watched fight again and Spence could’ve fought 15 tonight. His output in the 12th was crazy for a grueling fight. He has elite stamina. I do wonder what he’d look like with a nutritionist and a strength coach, though?

The fukk. He was pushing off SHAWN PORTER in the 12 round to try to create room to throw punches. He threw over 1000 punches in the Garcia fight. If Spence doesn't have elite stamina I don't know who does.

And no, Spence can't beat Canelo.

Didn't expect that to be so close - Errol didn't have to let it be so close, he could've breezed this by keeping a bit of distance All there was between them for me was the knockdown, if not for that i wouldn't have questioned a Porter W. This wasn't a fight to test Errols chin because we know Shaun doesn't have power like that, but Spence definitely ate a few heavy shots in there without showing too much detriment, it'll be interesting to see how he holds up to DG's shots. . And for that matter, hopefully this Spence/Canelo talk can get deaded for a while now

I’m glad you pointed that out. Shawn Porter is a good son and that’s why this relationship has worked but I see a potentially toxic father-son relationship that looks somewhat like Joe and Michael

I didn't wanna bring it up. Spence doesn't even belong in the same ring with canelo right now. That fight would end very early. The only boxer under 160 who could give canelo serious issues is Crawford. I think canelo would catch him but he would have a lot of trouble dealing with crawfords footspeed.

Good card. I was entertained. Should have been regular Fox tho. shyt would have gotten like 5 mil viewers with the promo it had.

I said way back early in this thread that Porter has better footwork than Spence and it give Errol problems, but nikkas had excuses

shyt played out like just like I said it would. Fight was super close and competitive. Had the fight 6 rds a piece, but Spence winning with the knockdown. He definitely got hit too much against a nikka as wild an as inaccurate as Porter. Especially when you consider the height and reach advantage Spence had. He constantly let Porter get off first and beat him to the turn when he would pivot. Spence was catching all types of hooks and overhand rights throughout the fight. Real talk his body punching kept him in the fight and the knockdown is what won it. Ring generalship wise Spence was lacking. He didn't assert himself like he should have.

Thurman had the footwork to maneuver Porter better even with Porter outhrowing him. nikka had him swinging for the rafter and leaping like a pitbull doing tricks On the other hand, Spence n Porter were damn near going punch for punch with only accuracy being the deciding factor, which Spence being the better puncher won. All that aggression from Porter close and mid range made the fight closer. shyt swayed one judge. Fight could have been a draw as well.

Spence definitely aint the invincible boogeyman that nikkas say he is. Very good fighter, tho. He looked too bothered by some of Porter's pressure and was moved backwards a lot. At times Porter would land jabs and Spence would just move straight back. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch fight was that good.

I think Swift/Spence is an even fight tho. If he land the type of hooks Porter was landing, shyt could get serious.

Exactly kool keith had the agility to give porter issues. I still wanna see Thurman vs spence because its a good style clash and thurman has legit power.

Spence wants to prove a point with his fights and silence the critics. Against mikey garcia ppl were saying spence is too strong and mikey is the better technical fighter, so spence outboxed him for 12 rounds. Against porter he fought on the inside, brawled for 12 rounds and beat him at his own game
