Well I'm not exactly sure what 'world class' even truly entails in this case.

They make for entertaining bouts, tough competitors, but none of these guys look like A level talent. As you said, none of these guys are as good as a Crawford, and as I believe, I don't think they're as good as Mikey. Would these guys be able to beat Broner, Danny, or even Matthysse @ 140?

These are B fighters beating up on each other in close fights, I don't see them standing a chance against the aforementioned names. They're of the same ilk as Rios, Provodnikov, Algieri etc.

:dahell: STRONGLY disagree with that one
Who are "they" btw? Cause as I said Taylor and Prograis beat the others clear so far, most of the times comfortably.
I think they are on the level of the likes of Porter, Danny Garcia or Thurman just at 140 not at 147.
Hell yes they would beat Broner. :gucci:

Matthysse and Swift in their 140 prime would be a tough out for them, idk who to pick there but it's not like these guys are in a lower league than them.
I don't know how watching them fight you took the conclusion that they are not on that level.

Generally it feels like them 147 welters are getting overrated. They are more well known cause they are in a "glamour division" and all except Pacand Ugas are American, fighting in America but they are not as good as some of you like to think they are.
I like Porter a LOT but dude struggled mightily with Diaz or Ugas
Ugas was lucky to win on the cards against the same Dulorme who was sent to the bushes by Crawford
Danny Garcia with his razor thin ass fights against Peterson and Herrera
Thurman almost getting stopped by Josesito Lopez

They are no different league than the current best of 140.

They = Ramirez, Taylor, Prograis

We gone have to agree to disagree.

I don't see fight changing IQ, power, athleticism, hand speed, defense, strength, NOTHING from these guys. :yeshrug:

Nonetheless you make interesting points about the 'overrated' 147 division, but how does that make the 140 fighters any better?

I hope we get to see Mikey Garcia versus these guys. I truly wonder how Broner would've fared in his younger years, but I think he would've been able to beat these guys, Taylor perhaps having the best chance imo.

Naoya Inoue Vows 'Career Best Performance' in Beating Donaire
By Random Hits

Published On Wed Oct 30, 2019, 10:49 AM EDT

Japan’s ‘Monster’ Naoya Inoue (18-0, 16 KOs) breaks down the WBSS Bantamweight Ali Trophy final against legendary Filipino-American Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire (40-5, 26 KOs) at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on November 7.

The tournament No. 2 seed knocked out former champ Juan Carlos Payano 70 seconds into their quarter-final and then stopped Emmanuel Rodriguez in round two of the semi to claim the IBF World title as he blasted his way to the final contest for the coveted Ali Trophy. His total fight time in the tournament is an astounding 5 minutes and 29 seconds, but the best is yet to come, the ‘Monster’ vows.

Did you ever believe it would only take you 5 minutes and 29 seconds to reach the final?

“No, I never imagined it.”

What is your prediction for the final?

“I’m prepared to fight for 12 rounds with Nonito Donaire, but if I see an opening, I will aim for a knockout.”

What is your assessment of Nonito Donaire? What are his skills and abilities?

“I have been watching Donaire throughout his career and was stealing his moves when I was starting out in boxing. I have a lot of respect for Donaire, I have idolised him and that’s why he was the one I wanted to fight the most in this tournament. But now it’s time for a change of generations.”

What would it mean to you to win the WBSS and Ali Trophy?

“I entered this tournament to prove I am the best bantamweight in the world. I’m in great condition and on November 7, I will show the best performance of my career to win the Ali Trophy.”

What is your greatest motivation and what is your ultimate career ambition?

“This final will be the biggest highlight of my career thus far. It will also be like a crossroad fight for what lies ahead for my future. I’m just looking forward to seeing what is waiting ahead in my career after winning the Ali Trophy.”

Nonito’s chin is very underrated. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Nonito hurts Inoue (or slumps him) before he even gets hurt from a shot.

nonito's chin is pretty solid..i mean he's only been knocked out by axeman who was a big featherweight..and even in that fight he managed to hurt him before getting stopped..so im sure he can hurt monster

I've watched Inoue's last 3 fights & noticed a few things that might get him in some trouble with Nonito

1 - He doesn't get his hands back after throwing punches a lot of times. He likes to admire his work which is a cardinal sin in boxing; let alone a sharp shooter like Nonito

2 - He susceptible to getting hit with clean right hands. We know Nonito can slump you with his left hook but he damn sure can hurt you with his right hand which is accurate & usually straight

3 - The Monster can be countered between his shots or in exchanges. Many times we've seen Nonito catch & shoot opponents & either sleep them or hurt them. Monster has shown the ability to roll shots in those fights but this is fight where he needs to be focused & cautious because he can get clipped

monster also has some fast ass hands behind that power..i can see donaire getting clipped if he is just a second too slow

Truth bro. My biggest question is can Monster fight going backwards. I'm not so sure he can fight in the pocket with Nonito like he has with past opponents. I think that would be a huge mistake

Can't wait for this fight. That said, I view this fight as an even bigger coming out party for Inoue. Nonito is going to try to call on his body to do things that it can't do anymore. Well, against lesser competition he could but not the elite.

I know, one punch can change it all but if you watch Donaire in recent years, he's chasing the knockout and not letting it happen naturally. He may get those brief windows in the fight but I don't know if he will be able to pull the trigger.

Other than seeing a p4p talent in action again I don't see the hype for this fight, Donaire is getting slaughtered
