Good breakdown from Frampton

This was my first comment in this thread.

AJ got beat up. There's really not much analysis to put in this.

Usyk out-punched him and out-thought him. Also AJ shouldn't be averse to looking at getting a new coaching team. All these guys were doing was shouting "brilliant AJ!" while he wasn't really implementing any discernible game plan. He has had a carefully managed career up till now, but he needs to explore his options.

A lot of people are not mentioning the lack of critical responsiveness from his coaches. They seem more like "yes-men" than actual coaches. All draped up in Under Armour for marketing purposes. Not one can look their fighter in the face and say that he needs to get active because he's behind on the cards.

Let’s be real, only reason Usyk wasn’t fancied tonight is because he looked poor against chisora.
Firstly, bar haye, NOBODY has looked good Derrick.

Secondly, Usyk was adjusting to the weight. Like Jon jones, he took the time for his body to adjust to the step up, these guys aren’t looking for a cash grab and just jumping up, they know they can’t make history and they believe it their own talent . This is why I had Usyk favourite tonight and favour jj over Francis, these guys are methodical, too smart for dudes that only came into the game, look back on past Usyk interviews , he states time and time again that fury and wilder are the big dawgs, he always said aj was nothing special

Will try find the quotes regarding my above comment

Tell you what i now wouldnt be surprised if Fury loses out of sloppiness.

His whole life was geared towards a massive AJ fight.

I disagree, he has always wanted to prove he's better than him peripherally. I think Fury will want to make a point that he is the toughest man in the division now. He can do it without even having to fight him.

Since that Ruiz loss AJ lost that killer instinct he used to have. Watch his earlier fights the minute he hurt you he was on you like flies to shyt.

So many people around boxing have said he needs to get rid of McCracken, I kind of agree with that now. He's thinking WAY TOO MUCH. I feel like AJ naturally is a thinker, does a lot of studying on his own (he's talked a lot about studying other trainers and tactics recently which concerned me thinking about it again), so I really feel like he needs someone who can bring a pure fighters mentality out of him. He needs to go back to the Femi that wanted to HURT Dillian Whyte in their fight. Rob talking to him like he still on the GB team

116-112 Usyk, very good performance, looked way sharper than in his other 2 HW fights too, this guy makes it a sport to prove me wrong lmao.

AJ was always vulnerable but though he’d have better success fighting long and countering a busy opponent than he did. And when it came to press the action he remained hesitant.
Had a nice patch of rounds from 4-8 except the 7th which was a big Usyk round but he started slow and fell apart by the end.
Feel sorry for the guy cause he seems like a genuinely more decent of a person than the likes of Fury or Wilder but he was clearly second best tonight and it’s hard to see how he overcomes the odds if he pursues an immediate rematch. One camp probably won’t be enough. This wasn’t like the Ruiz loss where you can point to one moment where he lost a fight he was controlling beforehand. Today Usyk was just better most of the fight.

Based on tonight Usyk beats Wilder as well and idk about Fury. Fury is trickier than AJ and would probably have more success roughing Usyk up close and keeping him off plus he’s even bigger than AJ so I’d still pick Fury probably but Usyk’s workrate can win him a decision too if Fury can’t discourage him from throwing or preventing him getting inside.

Roy Jones was spot on during the post fight: AJ has made improvements but ultimately he isn’t that skilled of a boxer. I’d say he has flashes where he can put it together but there is a level of uncertainty you get when watching him vs a skilled opponent.

Wilder is less technical but his stubborn simplicity of spamming the 1-2 in a way feels more strategic and assured. Whereas watching AJ in the Usyk and both Ruiz fights it feels like if he can’t outbox them... you don’t really trust his ability to set up anything. Kinda just hoping shyt works out for him in the exchanges. Idk
