I thought Lubin looked good, only gave Gausha the round he hurt Lubin, last round Lubin literally beat the snot outta him though :russ: It's sad that only one judge watched the fight though, I can't even fathom how the fukk two of them gave Gausha 4 and 5 rounds. Gausha hasn't done shyt in most rounds, with Lubin's athletic advantages and style this was all wrong for him. Lubin still a bit chinny but I don't make more of Gausha catching him with one shot than it really is, shyt like that just happens sometimes. Lubin matured since the Charlo loss, much less hot-headed, he developed into a good boxer.

I'd welcome Lubin vs Hurd/Harrison/J-Rock next, all would be a different kind of matchup.

Nyambayar vs Breedy was entertaining, I definitely need them to run this back, this time with Breedy not being a late replacement. Personally had Breedy nicking it, but I could see a draw and a close Tug win too. Idk what in the fukk Steve Farhood was watching though giving almost every round after round 6 to Tug.
Anyway... nice one from Breedy, I hope they rematch.

Ennis showed his usual flare, he got fast hands and very athletic, what surprised me a bit is that he looked visibly smaller than Abreu, but Abreu hasn't even bothered to make the weight of course. The fight has shed a light on some of Ennis' defensive shortcomings though, Abreu was catching him with some shots in exchanges. That's not a slight on Ennis, he is still very young and next to Ortiz the most promising 147 prospect but I'd advise him to not pursue the likes of Bud, Spence or Porter for at least a year, he's not on that level yet, let him build a little more.

What it means for Lubin is he can’t win a belt at 154 bc whoever ends up champion at this weight class has to beat Jermell or Rosario (maybe Hurd).

Lubin ain’t got that dawg in him to stand in there with Halloween Hurd. He ain’t got the skill or will to beat Charlo. He doesn’t have the skill for a Tony Harrison or Lara. He just ain’t good enough overall but he has a puncher’s chance.

Nice analysis

I mean Lubin can beat Teixeira but Teixeira has some heavy hands..the fact that the hook from Gausha made him dance are the same type of hooks Teixeira throws

I don’t think this fight took anything away from Lubin at all as far as potential. Gausha has never been stopped and this fight was literally do or die for him. It was a must win for Gausha. He’s a game Olympian.

The issue with Lubin is he hasn’t really improved as a fighter since getting with Kevin Cunningham. They just changed his approach and is less aggressive with the offense now. He learned to pace himself a little more but his punch selection is still questionable.

Maybe y’all can tell me bc I’ve been trying to understand, wtf is Kevin Cunningham looked at as a good trainer? Bc he didn’t do shyt to help Broner, Lubin or even Tank when they briefly worked together.

I know he was with Cory Spinks and Devon Alexander but both of them seemed to flame out right after age 30. Is Cunningham truly good at building fighters or does he just have an eye for talent?

Cunningham is a discipline first/no nonsense type of trainer.

It’s going to be hard to tell what Lubin has improved on until he faces a guy on the level of Charlo or rematches Charlo.

So basically he’s a substitute daddy

:dame:
:mjlol:

Lubin is basically first in that 2nd tier at 154... where I see as J Rock(or Hurd) being the last guy in the first tier. They honestly should make Lubin/Williams happen sometime soon in 2021. I have no idea what’s Hurds next move. His new trainer move doesn’t seem to be the wave. Dude is basically a less skilled Margarito with nowhere as much power.

To think... 2 years ago Charlo/Hurd was in position to be a PBC PPV unification Title Fight but they for whatever reason let it marinate too long... now Swift is nowhere to be found in the thick of things at 154. I’m sure he’ll get a high profile fight soon ... but in all reality his Overgrown ass should just move up to 160.

cory i think just got old...dude was a boxer to a tee and didnt have KO power like that..when he started to slow you saw shyt like K-9 ko'ing him twice :francis: and carlos molina dropping him and nearly knocking him out

devon developed an addiction to painkillers..thats what got him..that and he got jobbed in his fights with ortiz and berto

Those things you listed are improvements.
Not everyone has to have a super deep punch selection, you just have to utilize what you have well enough.
Personally, I thought Lubin looked good I didn't necessarily expect him to stop Gausha in the first place.
Boring fights are usually a turn off to fans even if one guy dominates the whole thing.

As for Cunningham I don't see him as some super trainer either but he is good, reliable.
Broner and Tank... it's a two way traffick, if the fighter is not dedicated enough and concentrates on other shyt you can be the best trainer ever and you might still not being able to improve them.
