I can't really choose, I mean #8 was flashier and after Shaq forced to be more 'selfish' but like mentioned #24 is/was more calculated and probably a better leader...
I wonder if Lakers are gonna retire both though...
Could argue either. Both numbers had a 1st ballot HOF career.
8 was more athletic, flashier, had a dominant 01 run, and a dominant 03 and 06 regular season. Could argue 06 was his peak as a player
24 was smarter, a better leader, more skilled, had 3 dominant playoff runs and was great in the regular season. Could argue 08 was his peak as a player
fwiw:
#8 Kobe since age 20:
27.1/5.9/5.1/1.7/0.7 on 55TS% in RS, 25.7/5.6/5.1/1.5/0.8 on 52.5TS%
#24 Kobe
27.3/5.5/5.2/1.4/0.3 on 55.5TS% in RS, 29.3/5.3/5.1/1.5/0.6 on 56TS%
Going with 24. Didn't realize how much better he was in the playoffs, although I do wonder what kind of run 06 could have had with a competent roster, he was definitely capable of putting up late 2000s numbers.
