If this match had happened in front of a hot WWE crowd, it would have been seen as a modern classic, despite some of the miscues.
Probably the best match these two have ever had (great story too, with the invincible Joe threatened enough by AJ's resilience that actually cheated to win, something he never did or needed to do for his first few months in TNA. Made Styles look that much better as a face to take Joe far as well, despite the loss), and possibly the best match they'll ever have as well. Makes me want to compare it to Styles's matches against Minoru Suzuki (his only 5 star match, I believe) and Tanahashi in the 2015 G1 (his personal favorite match). Probably one of the 3-5 best TNA matches ever as well.
