Is dude really this washed that most ppl think he gonna lose to Paul? :ohhh:
I mean Jake Paul seems to have some athletic ability and he boxes for three years but his comp has been dogshyt, not even club fighter level if we are being honest.
I'm definitely worried about Tyron.

My thing is just that MMA striking is so different from boxing, even if it looks similar. And Tyron hasn't been a super good MMA striker since early in his UFC tenure. None of this is even taking into account that he's lost something like 15 or 16 rounds in a row of his final rounds in the UFC.

Jake Paul is better than people think. He's rich, and has a lot of money to pay for really good training, really good sparring partners, and a lot of clout chasers that would love to help him out for a taste of fame/celebrity/money. Jake is probably in a position to literally tailor his entire life around preparing for this boxing match. From what I hear, Logan Paul isn't a very good boxer, but Jake supposedly has some potential.

Yeah, he's been fighting dog shyt competition, but in between these cash grab fights he's still improving his skills slowly but surely. All of the MMA guys he's been fighting are guys that either were never good strikers to begin with, or haven't been in a long time...AND have never boxed. That's how they're tricking people. Sure, Ben and Tyron are MMA guys, and people have seen them throw punches, but they've never been boxers.

I don't know. I'm not counting Tyron out, but I'd be scared to bet real money on him.

Charles Conwell, Montana Love To Appear In Separate Bouts On Paul-Woodley Undercard

BY JAKE DONOVAN
Published Thu Jul 15, 2021, 11:29 AM EDT
A homecoming appearance for one of the sport’s most notable influencers will include additional local flavor.

Cleveland natives Charles Conwell and Montana Love will appear in separate undercard slots in support of Jake Paul’s upcoming clash with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. The placement of both prospects on the show were revealed during a press conference held Thursday morning at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, home of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and the hosting venue for the August 29 Showtime Pay-Per-View event.

Conwell (15-0, 11KOs) fights for the third time in his home state, and his first since December 2018. The 2016 U.S. Olympian has emerged as one of the sport’s hottest prospects and a threat in the red-hot junior middleweight division.

The opportunity for the 23-year-old comes after fallouts from two previously scheduled bouts. Conwell was due to appear on a Ring City USA show this past April before suffering a hand injury in having to withdraw. He was then due to serve in supporting capacity of the planned June 19 Triller Pay-Per-View which was scrapped when its headliner, lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez Jr. (16-0, 12KOs) tested positive for COVID-19 and had to withdraw from his title defense versus George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10KOs).

Conwell was able to land a stay-busy fight, outpointing Silverio Ortiz on a June 26 show in Ashland, Kentucky.

Love (15-0-1, 7KOs)—a current junior welterweight prospect—fights in his hometown for the first time since 2019. That homecoming appearance came one year after his hard-fought eight-round draw with Kenneth Sims Jr. on a July 2018 Shobox card. Four wins have followed for the 26-year-old southpaw, including his August 2019 return to Cleveland and—in his most recent start—a second-round knockout of unbeaten Olaide Fijabi on a June 5 show in Dubai.

Opponents for Conwell and Love were not announced at the time of Thursday’s press conference.

In the main event, Paul (3-0, 3KOs) and Woodley (19-7-1, 7KOs in MMA) collide in a scheduled eight-round bout at a catchweight of 190 pounds. The evening’s co-feature will pit record-setting seven-division titlist Amanda Serrano (40-1-1, 30KOs) in the second defense her unified featherweight title reign versus Yamileth Mercado.

Paul-Woodley: Charles Conwell To Face Mark DeLuca On August 29 Undercard

BY JAKE DONOVAN

Hours after meeting the local press to confirm his next fight date, Charles Conwell now has an opponent for the occasion.

BoxingScene.com has learned Conwell—a 2016 U.S. Olympian and current junior middleweight prospect—will next face Mark DeLuca as part of the August 29 Showtime Pay-Per-View event at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The bout will serve in supporting capacity to social media influencer and current cruiserweight Jake Paul (3-0, 3KOs) who faces former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in an eight-round catchweight bout in the main event.

The placement of Cleveland’s Conwell (15-0, 11KOs) on the show was revealed during a press conference held Thursday morning on site, along with fellow local prospect Montana Love (15-0-1, 7KOs). Opponents were not revealed at the time for either boxer, though sources have since informed BoxingScene.com that terms were reached between Conwell and DeLuca.

Conwell fights for the second time in 2021, coming off of an eight-round decision victory over Silverio Ortiz on June 26 in Ashland, Kentucky. The stay-busy fight came about after watching two previously scheduled televised slots fall through. Conwell lost out on a Ring City USA appearance this past April due to a hand injury, while his placement on a June 19 Triller PPV event was scrapped after headlining act Teofimo Lopez Jr. (16-0, 12KOs) withdrew from his mandatory lightweight title defense versus George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10KOs) after testing positive for COVID-19.

Prior to his club show appearance earlier this summer, Conwell, 23, proved himself to be among the sport’s hottest prospects following post-pandemic televised wins over Wendy Toussaint and Madiyar Ashkeyev. Both were undefeated prior to running into the gifted southpaw who fights in Cleveland for the first time since 2017.

DeLuca (27-2, 15KOs) has emerged as a crowd favorite in the greater Boston area and throughout New England, thought heads to Conwell’s hometown as a heavy underdog. The 33-year-old southpaw from Whitman, Massachusetts is best-known for his lopsided seventh-round knockout loss to former welterweight titlist Kell Brook in February 2020, on the road in Sheffield, England. He showed his grit in splitting a pair of fights with past Contender participant Walter Wright, earning a ten-round decision win in October 2018 to avenge his first career defeat just four months prior.

DeLuca enters the fight with Conwell currently riding a three-fight win streak, all taking place at middleweight and versus tailor-made opposition.

The bout comes as part of an undercard that includes unified WBC/WBO/IBO featherweight champ Amanda Serrano (40-1-1, 30KOs) in a title defense versus Mexico’s Yamileth Mercado.

An opponent is still being sought for Love, whose placement on the Showtime PPV telecast has not been confirmed as this goes to publish.

Daniel Dubois and Tommy Fury are two unforeseen names who’ve been added to Showtime Pay-Per-View’s Jake Paul-Tyron Woodley undercard August 29 in Cleveland.

Showtime announced Monday that Dubois, a British heavyweight contender, will oppose Joe Cusumano in a 10-round heavyweight fight. Fury, a younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is set to square off against Anthony Taylor in a six-round cruiserweight bout, which will be contested at a contracted catch weight of 180 pounds.

Dubois (16-1, 15 KOs), who will make his U.S. debut, will fight for the second time since another big British heavyweight, Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs), knocked him out in the 10th round of their domestic showdown November 28 at Church House in London. The 23-year-old Dubois most recently knocked out Romania’s Bogdan Dinu (20-3, 16 KOs) in the second round June 5 in Telford, England.

The 33-year-old Cusumano (19-3, 17 KOs), of Danville, Virginia, hasn’t been knocked out during his 11-year, 22-fight career.

The 22-year-old Fury (6-0, 4 KOs), of Manchester, England, and Taylor, an MMA fighter from Alameda, California, will open Showtime’s five-fight pay-per-view show from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse (8 p.m. EDT). Fury is viewed as a potential opponent for Paul if the social media star defeats Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champ, in the main event.

Showtime also announced Monday that Cleveland’s Charles Conwell (15-0, 11 KOs) and Argentina’s Lucas Bastida (17-1, 9 KOs) will meet in a non-televised, 10-round junior middleweight match on the Paul-Woodley undercard. Conwell was supposed to meet Mark De Luca in a 10-rounder, but Massachusetts’ De Luca (27-2, 15 KOs) withdrew due to an injury.

As previously reported by BoxingScene.com and other outlets, the pay-per-view portion of the Paul-Woodley undercard also will feature seven-division women’s champion Amanda Serrano and former IBF junior welterweight champ Ivan Baranchyk.

Brooklyn’s Serrano (40-1-1, 30 KOs) will defend her WBC and WBO featherweight titles against Mexico’s Mercado (18-2, 5 KOs) in the 10-round co-feature. Baranchyk (20-2, 13 KOs) will encounter Cleveland’s Montana Love (15-0-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-rounder.
