I won't believe this fight is happening until they are being read instructions by the ref, has there been a single press conference/face-off for the fight? Promo has been non-existant
Imo if Yarde wanted to pull out he'd already done it before fight week, it's rare that they pull out on fight week.
Lack of promotion is debatable imo, I've seen plenty of videos about it mostly on BT's YT channel so they are doing their part but the main promoter is not them and the fight will happen in Russia, maybe that's why there's no face off, extended promos, pressers and all, they know that the international boxing media won't travel to Chelyabinsk to pressers until a few days before the fight and they know people will turn up to a Kovalev fight in Chelyabinsk no matter what plus we don't know how hard they advertise the event in Russian TV, billboards, etc... we don't have a sight on that. Seem to me that BT is doing what they can to make sure UK fans will watch it on their screens.

Yarde has got some balls to go there. Other boxers could take note of the courage.
He's getting some crazy money for it though supposedly

His trainer was laughing at the idea of them going to Russia (why? cause he had this idea about Yarde being the A side here) but the tone changed when the offer came

Excluding bums brought in to get washed, when is the last time a boxer took the kind of step up Yarde is about to take? We really don't have the slightest clue about dude, shyt is crazy.
i mean shyt..didnt we have lomachenko try to outbox the great master boxer orlando salido in his second fight

This fight is too tough to call for me.

There's alot to like about Yarde. The handspeed, the power, the precision punching. But gotdamn, his competition has been awful

Kovalev's better days are behind him. But he's still Kovalev, and is still dangerous. This might be too much for Yarde.

For all the tools Yarde has though, what he's really lacking in is footwork/movement. He's pretty damn stiff, so he's not gonna be able to pivot and avoid Kovalev's punches at long range. If the fight is on the outside, Kovalev will outbox him and maybe even KO him. Yarde needs to be his chest, Kovalev won't be able to keep up with him at close range. And he definitely won't be able to handle those body shots that Yarde loves to throw

Tough call, but I'm gonna go with the young hungry lion in Yarde via 6th round TKO

Yarde’s activity isn’t that great though, he fights in spurts and the aforementioned lack of constant fluid movement and the overreliance on his shoulder roll makes me think he won’t be able to walk Kovalev down. Plus we basically don’t know anything about him because the level of guys he’s fought. What we know is that he punches hard, athletic, not really a mover and fights in spurts. I got Kovalev by mid-late stoppage.
