All they had to do was a quick 2 minute segment of Jamie Hayter in the back being interviewed by Mark Henry with a tiny clip of her last time in the ring for AEW so that when she ran out everyone watching would've known who she was.

It's tiny production details like that where AEW falls flat on the regular.
