Main thing to remember - when you're looking at 16yo basketball stars, 90% of them don't pan out.

So just off general principle, it's a good bet to guess that he won't be a star. Beyond that, pretty tough to judge. He's too young to really know how good he'll turn out to be. Remember that when Jokic was 20yo scouts were saying that due to his athletic limitations, his absolute ceiling in the NBA was "respectable reserve". Literally every team passed him up in the 1st round.

Nikola Jokic NBA Draft 2014: Highlights, Scouting Report for Nuggets Rookie

The big downside, though, is his athleticism. He doesn't get much lift off the floor at all, and he doesn't have the speed burst to drive past opponents or stay in front of them laterally.

It's going to give him major problems on defense and limit him to being a role player on offense.
If Jokic can deliver accurate shooting and make the right plays when the ball is in his hands, he could be a poor-man's Diaw and a long-range threat like Antic. Jokic would probably be the fourth or fifth scoring option when he's in the game, but all that matters is whether he plays efficiently.

Unfortunately, his defense will likely prevent him from ever playing 30-plus minutes or starting. However, there's no shame in being a respectable reserve on a winning team in the future.

Of course I named all-time greats, that's the whole point. :gucci:

If Euros like Luka, Giannis, Pau, and Dirk can be all-time greats, then maybe picking a Euro first isn't always the wrong idea.

Why you naming guys picked way the fukk down there behind a bunch of American flops too? :mjlol:

Maybe NBA drafting is a crap shoot and a lot of players don't pan out regardless of their nationality? :ohhh:

I don’t see it
I just saw a tall nikka doing tall nikka things .His shot is nice though That handle ain’t gonna make it unless it takes some leaps (it might but idk )
And I hope he’s done growing

For comparison sakes the first time I saw Chet Holmgren he looked like a legit freak out there . Idk if I see that with this kid

Holmgren has a nice dropstep and his fadeaway has good lift on it. That post potential is there even if he doesn't bulk up like that. His shot is pretty much unguardable.

He going to Gonzaga tho and I don't trust white boys from that school to pan out like people think they will. :hubie:
