Black women can not win as long as we keep looking to our men for validation. We have to validate ourselves. We must raise our standards with the men that we allow in our lives and in our beds. We must not tolerate men to treat us like trash because they believe that their options are many and ours are few. We must stop giving our men power by rejecting other men solely based on skin color/ethnicity/race. We must stop being afraid that "other" men can not/do not/will not love us the same (or even mo' better) When we say that we ONLY want black men we limit our options. So if we are only open to black men and they don't want us then we have made ourselves powerless in terms of finding a partner. Basically many black men feel comfortable with treating black women like crap because we are so LOYAL that these black men have absolutely no competition for us. We have limited our options to the point of our own detriment and we are the ONLY group of women dumb enough to do it.

Black women have allowed ourselves to be fed lines and lies....and yet still we keep coming back for more and more abuse. This current generation of black men HATE us because if they love us then they certainly have a funny way of showing us. Many black men literally HATE black women for not being white women. They hate that most of us do not have straight/wavy hair, lightly tanned or white skin, or light colored eyes. And then they HATE the black women who attempt to obtain those physical traits that black men so strongly desire (through weaves, skin lighteners, colored contacts) only to be HATED for attempting to attract them.

Well said...black women need to take their share of the blame, revamp their image and be selfish. Trying to play the sacrificial lamb for the "black community" will leave you bitter and angry. Improvements, on an individual level will do a lot more for the black female collective.

And any cause that is deemed black community centric but that puts black men front in center and puts black women on the back seat should not get black female support. No one recognizes you for your sacrifice until your dead and gone.
It's sad that it has come to this but I would advise to expect nothing from black men let them show you their support out of their own volition, not because you badgered and nagged for it. You should not plead support of men in your own community but if it has come to that it is time ro reevaluate a lot of things.

Conversations of black men and their interracial relationships should not be a topic of debate for black women the way it is way foe way to many. How is what black men choose to lay with improve black female prospects in terms of marriage and family building.
Focus on improving yourselves.
Self image and self esteem among black women is real a lot of faux confidence around , taking care of your health body and overall physique does a lot to boost a greater sense of self.
