At the end of the day, people do not want to be alone and need to be connected to something or somebody. I believe most people know their worth. Simple as that. While black women stand around begging and pleading for these men to see our value and to validate us as black women. But that isn't going to happen any time soon. Many black men literally HATE black women for not being white women. They hate that most of us do not have straight/wavy hair, lightly tanned or white skin, or light colored eyes. And then they HATE the black women who attempt to obtain those physical traits that black men so strongly desire (through weaves, skin lighteners, colored contacts) only to be HATED for attempting to attract them. We, as black women, must wake up. We must. We have to wake up.

While you are marginally correct with some of your assertions, the Black men that you speak of do not encompass the totality. Yes, girl there are some lost Black males in this world looking to intentionally do damage to Black women. And I definitely think that 78.2% of those Black men have made appearances on the coli <sarcasm>... But it's not a whole generation.

I agree with you about us as Black women waking up. We have to collectively start abiding by the standards of family, community and village. We must not purchase a damaged bill of goods, even if it means that we no longer are fruitful. I do understand, however; how you can arrive at your conclusions. But I can site specific examples from my life that negate those conclusions. It's hard though, to rely on the same positive examples when the negativity pops up in a variety of settings and times.

I would like for the Black community to prosper, but it takes all hands on deck for that to happen.

Anyway, I neglected to mention that I was a statistic. My bio mother/bio parents had me (as well as my siblings) OOW. So surely I was counted as part of the black OOW birth stats. But my parents later went and got married (we were part of the wedding party

; so who went back to add an asterisk to the birth status of me and my siblings? Or the countless other children whose mothers later went on to marry? These stats are superficial. A lot of stats do follow-ups on their subjects to give a well-rounded picture. If there such a great concern for the 72% of black children born OOW why no follow-ups ontheir family status at age 2, 5, 12, 16, etc.

And again, as I alluded to before whenever a statistic can be quoted by a bum on the street it ceases to impress me. I've heard high school age white twitter trolls use this 72% stat as part of their racist tirade arsenal. Just like 50% of American marriages end divorce, there are some statistics that just sound cheap and no longer intellectually profound; it might as well be on the inside of a Snapple cap or yogurt lid.
