" Well, if it's a problem in the AA community and most posters on here are AA, then why not address it (by discussion) as opposed to arguing over whether the numbers given are 100% true.

Some folks on here say it's an issue and then blame black women while society says it's an issue and blame black women.

Women in general take the blame, because apparently women should "close their legs" while guys are for some reason not told to keep their broke and irresponsible dikks within their pants

My opinion on the topic is only slightly biased because I live in Texas and the issues that stick out racially tend to involve Hispanics/Latinos.

Also, it's only an *issue* to those who think marriage is necessary. Not everyone sees marriage for themselves or wants to get married! "

" Because of my background I take most statistics with a grain of salt. Stats are a numbers game and can be manipulated. More black people need to realize this and take the time to learn about how the statistics that are being published about us are developed. I notice too many will automatically believe anything that is released to the public and won't ask any questions about how and where the data was collected. Someone could post a study that just sounds totally ridiculous and some black people will jump on it like flies to shyt. The statistics you see published are based on the data that is collected from a sample. I know a lot of people that don't like or trust studies because the sample size is small and doesn't accurately fit the entire population and can be easily manipulated. The community I live in doesn't have a high OOW rate, if I wanted to conduct a study with the black women of my community being my study sample, I would come up with a totally different number. "

Anyway, I neglected to mention that I was a statistic. My bio mother/bio parents had me (as well as my siblings) OOW. So surely I was counted as part of the black OOW birth stats. But my parents later went and got married (we were part of the wedding party
smile.gif
; so who went back to add an asterisk to the birth status of me and my siblings? Or the countless other children whose mothers later went on to marry? These stats are superficial. A lot of stats do follow-ups on their subjects to give a well-rounded picture. If there such a great concern for the 72% of black children born OOW why no follow-ups ontheir family status at age 2, 5, 12, 16, etc.

And again, as I alluded to before whenever a statistic can be quoted by a bum on the street it ceases to impress me. I've heard high school age white twitter trolls use this 72% stat as part of their racist tirade arsenal. Just like 50% of American marriages end divorce, there are some statistics that just sound cheap and no longer intellectually profound; it might as well be on the inside of a Snapple cap or yogurt lid.

welp.

Not many people do longitudinal studies on the Black communities unless they want to sell us blood pressure and diabetes medicine...

Them folks don't want the truth on the Black community.... it will just put their actions on front street...

" This reminds me of that infamous study about black women and HIV/AIDS, in which the statistics showed that 48% of the small sample of new HIV cases reported in Washington, DC happened to be black women.

When these findings were reported, the data was distorted and skewed to the point where people were constantly discussing the "fact" that 48% of black women had HIV.

Also, there was the study of single mothers with multiple children, that reported 46% of these women had kids with multiple men. Left out of the soundbites and media reports were the other findings of the study:
  • Many of these women had only 2-3 children
  • Many of the kids were spaced out by 5-7 years (or more), and most had only 2 different fathers in the situation
  • Some women had a child OOW, then got married and had children with the husband, then divorced him and were single mothers again
  • Some women had been divorced multiple times, and had at least one child with each exhusband
  • Most of these mothers were working women living above poverty level
But all of this was ignored, and people were content to believe that 46% of single mothers had 5 kids by 5 different guys, all on welfare, and they were more than happy to assume that this study only pertained to black women, when it included women of all races. "

Media has created a binary reality for Black manhood. You're either ballin' out of control/livin' some day-to-day version of the Big Pimpin' video or you're just a regular, boring nikka.

There's no in between. The birdbrains in our community are brainwashed by that shyt.

Breh Jamal, who works for the non-profit, is the "boring" nikka.

Breh Jamal, who works as the engineer, is the "boring" nikka.

Breh Jamal, who works as the business analyst, is the "boring" nikka.

They don't want that.

LMAO bruh hes wearing nikes...

The beautiful (and usually educated) black women that white men date/marry are NOT interested in the "thug" and jailbird types. Sorry but no. Those types of black men do not value (and are intimidated by) educated black women and tend to only value looks/big azzes.

exactly

"black women think they alllllll that cause they got a degree"

sound familiar lol.

Not even. I know a few female attorneys that have out of wedlock kids and the father of their kids are not in the picture. Seriously, this is what happens when people become selfish and completely self-centered.

lets talk about the white single mothers (of biracial b*stards)

cause last time, everybody dodged that question like the damned matrix.

Black women can not win as long as we keep looking to our men for validation. We have to validate ourselves. We must raise our standards with the men that we allow in our lives and in our beds.

This is the crux of the issue and has been the main argument sensible Black men have presented from the jump. Black women need to raise the standards of the dudes they deal with. Stop dealing with bums, nikkas with no goals, etc.

Those nikkas continue to proliferate because they keep getting rewarded.

Can you imagine if these bum nikkas didn't have women they could leech off? Living rent-free in her spot. Raiding her refrigerator. Driving around in her car while she's at work. Playing XBox (that she bought for him) all day. Having predictable p*ssy and a hot meal and warm bed to sleep in at night. Those bum nikkas are living the life while regular nikkas are clocking a 9-5, paying rent, car note, etc.

Don't lump all Black men in with the bum ass nikkas Black women are out here allowing into their lives. Those nikkas aren't kicking down Black women's doors and forcing themselves in. Black women allow those nikkas to leech.

The vast majority of those white, Mexican and other single mothers dealt with the same type of bum-ass nikkas typical Black single mothers deal with.

Breh William from marketing isn't abandoning his wife Meghan and his seed like that.

But, Meghan who met Treyvathian at the club, in the freezer section at WalMart, or on POF and let the nikka go raw before even knowing if the nikka has a real job or has even talked about marriage or his willingness to be a father suffers the same fate.

@christinasade where l went to school all the black mixies were half black half native and some half white raised by single parents. Felt sorry for the kids, I an just glad black women were not involved.

To the black female posters, and black female guests, discernment is key.
