This is not an outright lie, and those numbers are straight from the CBO... BUT...
It is not necessarily a cut to medicare, and it does not affect providers and those who receive medicare, it is simply a cut of the money going to the HMO's over some years. That money is being diverted into care rather than corporate profits.

Seeing the Republicans and Fox News meltdown on the 7.8 is even funnier than seeing MSNBC meltdown at the debates. They are doing everything to discredit the number. They don't understand that they are BETTING AGAINST AMERICA. It's sad that there is some good economy news and they are MAD at the news. SMH.

Exactly. If the Job numbers were 8.2 or 8.3 then the numbers would be all on Romney's mouth but now that the numbers are good it's a problem. Obama needs to hit them with:
"They hear the numbers are improving and they are saying it's Bad".
This is a great chance for Obama to attack.

thats why i could never be prez in a debate like this.
the next time around. i would bring out my point and click power point presentation with video clips.
mitt would say something i knew he was lying about. and i would say "hey mitt. are you sure about that? cause a couple of months ago you said X?"
when mitt would double down on that lie again. i would say. American citizens. Exhibit A. the video clip would roll of him talking reckless and saying what he really meant. then i would say "you decide america. you decide."
Then i would mention the steady growth in jobs. and the Unemployment rate dropping. then i would show clips of fox news and other repub politicians talking reckless about it as if they wish it were worse then acting as if its fake numbers because its better then 8. when just a day ago they were 100% believing in the 8 number. then i would look dead at the camera and say, Americans. there are people out there that want us ALL to fail just to say they took down the president. is that the kind of people you want running you r country at a time like this? go VOTE. then i would walk off the stage.

I don't think that's how Fox is looking at it. Sean Hannity's position for example appears to be that the formula isn't truthful. According to the model that he is using, the unemployment rate is 14.7%. He claims that the number is "fixed" to offset the hurdles that Obama has in fixing the economy. On the otherhand, the Department of Labor is using the same formula that they have always used, which just happens to be working in the favor of the Obama camp now.
at these conservatives hustling backwards. They are giving this story so much coverage that it's taking airtime away from Romney's debate performance.
