Shakur has talent. He’s just not some boogeyman kind of talent, though. People are trying to make him a fighter he’s never shown himself to be—which is why there’s a mismatch of expectations. For example, Bradley was saying Shakur needs to throw combinations. When has Shakur been a combination puncher ? He really has ONE combination he’s comfortable throwing regularly, which is a jab and then a cross. That’s it. Most of his attack outside of that combo are single punches.

I think Shakur should try to fight Haney. That would be an interesting matchup because they’re both guys with not a lot of hot sauce on their shots, good speed, can be elusive, etc. Albeit, I think Haney probably hits a little harder than Shakur based on how Haney had Regis wobbling.
Tank is all wrong for Shakur. Tank is actually faster and quicker than Shakur with dynamite in both hands. I just don’t see how he goes all 12 without getting caught with something serious, but that’s why they fight, right?

I like how Abdullah Mason’s people move, can tell he comes from a strong family.

Shakur had a good fight. His opponent wasn’t on his level. I don’t think he’ll have an impressive fight with Tank though. I’d like to see him run it back with De La Santos, since he was allegedly hurt. He has trouble with quick explosive fighters and I’m curious to see if he can get over that hump.
