Unless they book him strong as fukk and he gets 2 or 3 emotional and GREAT matches heading into January, I still think it's too late for him as a Tokyo Dome headliner. If they give him the tournament it's gonna be hard as fukk for him not get Naito'd (2013) and be put in the semi main because he wasn't generating anything as a challenger going heading into WK.

It's been 9 fukking years since he's had the same damn "I swear I'm gonna win this time!" story breh, Goto needs a fukk ton of help and be amazing for 5 months for this to work.

Then again, it's cruel as fukk for him to take another L in a big match (whether is on Sunday, January or even being the first one to lose the G-1 title shot)...once again Gedo making his job harder than it should

Your last paragraph is exactly what im thinking. Unless he wins its just a tease and were back to square one. But if he does we would have to see one HELL of a 5 month run to make fans care again. And he will still have to lose at the Dome so this is interesting for all the wrong reasons

Agreed. It's a big test for Naito in terms of drawing. If they get 7k it's a win for New Japan imo.

I'm also interested on Sunday to be honest. I mean, tickets could be already sold for the most part considering is the last day but still, it wont have a huge name in the main event so it's still interesting.
