Pac ain't no spring chicken as older folks say. Matthysse is younger, hungrier, and judging his last two fights is in good shape and might be at the top of his game. He hasn't taken any damage since the Postol fight, and folks forget his loss to Swift wasn't a slaughter by any means. In fact I think Danny's dirtiness with low blows is what weakened Matthysee enough for Danny to pull ahead.
Pac on the other handnwhile he got robbed with the Horn fight, he still struggled somewhat with the Australian . Crawford made it look easy, and I'd bet my left nut Matthysse would have annihilated Horn as well, possibly in less time and more brutal than Crawford. Here's the other thing, Pac gets restless and leaves himself open. Matthyse does the same thing. The difference is at this point in their careers I think Matthysse can withstand more damage in a firefight minus his eye sockets. If they exchange I'm running with Matthysse.
In addition I think Bob is looking to make Matthysse vs Crawford. Horn getting the nod over Pac wasn't a fluke, neither was the fight happening in Australia .
