Jeff Cobb has got to be the biggest disappointment of this G1. Dude's cardio has gone completely to shyt to the point his freak strength can't even compensate for it.
ROH roster is straight trash. I like Jeff Cobb and I thought he was gonna be over in NJPW...but he's been underwhelming. Shoulda got Jay Lethal or someone from their other partners...like CMLL instead. Matter a fact...they shoulda had the gawd Suzuki in it.

Still overall a sick bracket. None of the washed up legends or like Makabe...Nagata...Kojima...Tenzan...or straight bums like Yoshi Hashi or Yujiro.

:salute:to MOX once again. This time for blessing Jay White with a match that didn't put me to sleep for a change.

This Naito/ShinGOAT matchup is everything I thought it would be. Breh, some of these lariats from Takagi...

Tetsuya Naito vs Shingo Takagi - G1 Climax 8/4/19

I had MOTYC expectations for this match just as I had for Ishii/Mox, like I said that time, that's never a fair hype to have, but sometimes the match lives up to it, and this one did :blessed: the first 10 minutes or so could've been the usual "whatever" part as most long NJ match tend to have, but I was compelled by Shingo getting pissed off at Naito's antics and proceeding to beat the shyt out of him. I think the only bad transition was Naito going back on offense after that first control segment by Takagi, but that's basically the only criticism (which is incredibly minor) I have for the match, the rest was fukking awesome. Shingo being a dominant force, landing some incredible strikes and throwing this dude around, which forced Naito to pull off some great fukking counters to reset the action gave the match the sense of urgency it deserved. Osaka chanting for Naito both times the both of them were on the canvas near the end was dope as fukk, so was the drama. This was great, go watch it!

And we still have Shingo vs Ishii left :damn: :ohlawd: :blessed:

Ibushi finally surpassed god :wow:

Sanada finally beats Okada, but like it matters at all since not only will Gedo not do anything with Naito, EVIL is ahead of Sanada in the LIJ pecking order as well for some reason, so I 100% expect Sanada to lose his match against Okada and then be back to exactly the same spot he's been in for the past 3 years and continue to be in it for another 2-3 (or more). They might as well have just saved Sanada beating Okada for the years down the road when Gedo decides it's his turn.

Also I'm fukking sick of Evil's chair spot and all his spots with the ref. Disqualify that man.

Told y'all at the beginning of the tournament that he needed to lose 20 pounds post-haste. I need to catch up on the last week or so of shows, but it's unsurprising to see Cobb's shytty wind being a constant in this tournament.

Based on the comments, it looks like we're finally getting some matches that stand up to the best of last year's G1.:ehh:

Ishii vs Yano was great. :krs:

Yano fukkery in the first minute. Ishii not falling for the BS afterward. Yano with the offense and counters, Ishii selling Yano bows.

Five stars, fukk ya :wow:
You gotta love the consistency in Yano's booking. Guys who try to play his game tend to set themselves up for failure because you can't beat Yano at his own game. Guys who don't fall for Yano's bait tend to beat him because he's easy to outwrestle.
