With the way they're always pushing Okada as the GOAT, it really wouldn't surprise me if he were the first champ to win the G1.

He would be the 3rd champ to win the G-1.

The other 2 were Mutoh and Sasaki and their wins were basically booked to "protect" them from huge Ls they'd take later.

Mutoh lost the belt to Nobuhiko Takada in a huge interpromotional title match at the Dome.

Sasaki lost a big non-title interpromotional match at the Dome against Kawada...which made him vacate the belt and win it back at the January 4th show by avenging that L.

You guys know that meme where the guy sitting outside at a table? I seen one where it said "Pieter is the best member of bullet club, prove me wrong." And he may not be wrong from what I seen in the G1. Bad Luck Fale is just your average big man, nothing special, and Chase Owens just seems unimpressive and looks like he won't amount to much. That Tokyo pimp guy hasn't stood out to me. I would prefer to see GOD in the tourney even if just for the tag matches. I don't watch regularly like some of you might if there is a weekly show, but they definitely not the best stable. They not even in the top 3 with LIJ, Suzuki Gun, and Chaos. And who knows if theres even another stable on there thats not being shown.

Another thing that I thought. Don't know if they do but they should give title shots to people who pin champions at a later event. Like if any of the guys who have a title lose to an opponent, the guy gets a title shot at a later ppv event. Just raises the stakes up a bit I guess.

Question, does everyone one in NJPW has like an alternative theme or second music? It’s like some times they leave to something different than what the come to or Vice versa.

Many possibilities and reasons for this...

In tags, the leader or most popular member often has their music played to come out, but the winners' theme will be different if they don't get the pin.

Suzuki-gun has their own theme they come out to, also, which basically guarantees a different theme being played out if they win their match.

It’s seemed like after the Okada/Kenta match. They played his theme then another theme right after.

And yes I noticed Suzuki Gun had that one theme then they sometimes do the main theme of Minora

Storyline wise they were prob at their peak with heel kkk styles ....popularity wise here the Omega one was prob the best I would argue storyline wise too if you cared about the golden lovers reuniting but I know a lot of people dont so

I think I prefer last year's matches these are all good but none of them have felt classic to me.

Okada/Tana broadway

Ishii fukking Omega up had that boy leaking running out the arena

Ibushi and Omega trying to kill each other

Ibushi and Tanahashi

Ibushi dropping Naito on his head and it actually was the finish


I've seen nothing this year that comes close to those matches.

Just looking at this 4 man tag match that Shooter was in. For any moment I thought they was gonna give him the upset pin for his team

Like I was fully convinced with the way they been pushing him and the commentary has been high on him

Him being with Mox makes me have faith in his development as a character in the US tbh. His comeback to New Japan as a deranged motherfukker is gonna be something else
