I told him I wasn't allowed to open the door for no whole bunch of strange men and he understood perfectly.

Hopefully the Ghanaian justice system takes swift action and makes an example out of the perpetrators. This is one of those cases where jungle justice might not be a bad idea.

I remember some movers came with some furniture and my cousins were mad as hell at me, but my uncle had already dealt with the owner of the furniture store so he knew if he sent guys over and there was a problem he’d have to deal with my uncle.

We just have to be realistic, not everyone will see us as "one of them".
And depending on how you're approaching things, it's easy to stay out

to how hard he works. This same guy when he goes home (back to Nigeria) makes sure
to be accompanied and protected.
