am I going to finesse myself into a promotion? :lupe: applied for an incident response position I have no experience on. Manager wants to interview me. One guy(former manager) at my job, got an incident response position with zero experience so I figured why not me and applied lol.


Interview ended up being very general. I don't think he is going to hire me on, I think he just liked my resume and did the interview as he is potentially looking to grow his org and wanted to feel me out ("pause") because he thinks I am strong candidate. He said my background is very impressive so we will see how that turns out and he has other positions to feel.

His org is huge, so why interview me when you can hire someone from your org who will not have to learn new processes ? Does not make sense. Plus I am sure he knows former vets in cyber who he can hire so I will see how that goes.

I want to stay were I am at, they not bothering you about this hybrid shyt and they fully remote.

Today I feel I will stay here. I gained an "this data is trash" ally yesterday in a meeting with dude that handles the corporate real estate/hr logistics. He was complaining that someone told him to provide a list of analysts, he pulls the list using job title and they comment he's missing 3 people.

LOL 1 of the 3 names missing had 'Dummy...' or something like that as the title. Literally the word dummy was right in front. He was HOT!!

This is one of those "innovate" companies, so they stay changing/adding what metrics they want to measure and how they collect data for them, if they collect it at all. No data quality checks. Just a mess.

Talking about we need to develop a production release schedule. Baby, we need to start at initiation.

the upward feedback review has a question about whether i'd recommend my manager to someone considering our company - i don't like the dude who i report into, don't dislike him either, but we just don't mesh (and a lot of other people feel this way about him), overbearing white male syndrome to a T – i wholeheartedly wouldn't work for him if it was my choice. how TF do you answer this question? the political answer is to clearly say "yes, i'd recommend him" but god damn if this aint a whole lie
