Brandon Rios? Fighting him does nothing for Lubin and Rios don't need to be fighting someone that can crack like Lubin

He's aggressive and will come to fight. He has experience against high-level comp, Lubin hasn't fought anyone at that level and that's been the problem with his career so far. He took too much of a leap in talent going from Cota to Charlo. He needs someone like that who's really coming to win.

It's not about what a W would do for him popularity-wise, it's about progress in the ring. Trout would even be a big step up for him but I would be for that too, as long as he doesn't fight another average fighter.

Rios and Vargas too small for a meaningful fight with lubin but I get you... Lubin needs to fight that gatekeeper, veteran type before going straight for a belt. 154 got some real talent at the top.
