as soon as it was over CNN went on code and started shytting on Biden...all of them. :francis:

Yup CNN/media wants to tank Biden. Didn't even address Trump's lying and racism. All the major headlines were bile directed at Biden.

Guess our corporate overlords are ready for fascism

CNN ratings were crazy high during the Trump administration due to the chaos and being the foil for trump. Biden doesn’t bring in the same dollars. The CEO is also a conservative. If you can’t see why CNN would prefer Trump then agree to disagree.

Nobody is denying that Biden looked like shyt but it’s obvious CNN favored Trump.
As a very progressive person, this doesn't comport w/ what I saw. From my perspective, the moderators repeatedly bailed Biden out when he started stammering and losing his train of thought.

I'm not complaining because it was an act of mercy, but this idea that CNN framed the debate to help Trump seems more like cognitive dissonance than anything else.

If audience members who supported a debater who performed poorly are experiencing cognitive dissonance, they may say various things to rationalize or minimize the poor performance. Some likely responses could include:
  1. "The moderator was biased against her."
  2. "She wasn't given enough speaking time."
  3. "The questions were unfair and designed to make her look bad."
  4. "The other candidate just talks better, but that doesn't mean their arguments are stronger."
  5. "She was playing it safe to avoid controversy."
  6. "The media will probably spin this unfairly against her."
  7. "She was focusing on substance rather than style."
  8. "The audience was clearly biased against her from the start."
  9. "She was probably just having an off night."
  10. "The format didn't allow her to fully explain her positions."
  11. "The other candidate was obviously coached and rehearsed."
  12. "She was being honest rather than just saying what people want to hear."
  13. "People just don't understand her message yet."
  14. "The real issues weren't even discussed in this debate."
  15. "Debates don't really matter anyway; it's all about policy."

I'm voting for Biden, and his policies are head-and-shoulders better, but I think a lot of posts in this thread are overlooking that the debate's sole purpose was to convince moderates, Independents and never-Trump Republicans to catch up in the polls.

An uninformed voter who only gets info from a debate/social media is unlikely have the context to reflect on real policy differences. Because Biden failed so miserably, it seems extremely unlikely that he will win based. on his continual decline in approval ratings.

There's likely no stage left as big that could change people's perception of him and claw back undecided voters in a meaningful way. His campaign was already struggling prior to the debate and now feels like a death march. That's why personally, the idea of him staying in the race feels like Dems are more interested in loyalty vs winning.

at this stage, knowing what’s at stake, anyone who needs to be convinced of how important it is to keep donald trump out of office is a lost cause.

a possible descent into christian fascism all riding on Joe Biden makes me terrified man, the democrats should've just transitioned from Biden to Newsom or Buttigieg or whoever before now.
The Democrats haven’t offered a vision for the future. They run on filling the holes in a sinking ship instead of saying let’s build an outstanding new ship.

Roomba Joe is emblematic of that.
