There's also the fact I believe Hangman competed in the G1 in the past as well and has that experience with the schedule. Cole is hurt currently so he's resting up for Forbidden Door.
G-1 starts July 16th, I think the only AEW injured wrestlers that can't compete because of recovery time are Punk and Omega.

They used to do this shyt every time they would come over for WOTW tour and put it on AJ. Didn't think they would do it again here but they did :francis:

And this was honestly the first match of Jay's all year that I wasn't feeling. Dude came off like a clown most of the match.

Pretty sure he has zero say in who NJPW chooses for the tournament. With that said, All Out is 2 weeks after the end of the G1, so it would be tough to build a program for that show if someone is in Japan for a month.
You can book around that by scheduling the AEW wrestler's tourney matches in a way that he can fly to the U.S and work at least 1 Dynamite during the G-1 tour. Said wrestler doesn't need to be in the final night of tournament (Aug. 18th) either so he could be back to work 3 weeks of TV before All Out. A lot of AEW PPV matches don't have that long of a build up either so that should be enough time to build a program when you add pre taped promos and stuff like that.
