shyt could easily be NJPW's top show next to WK :feedme:
In what sense? They ain't making the kind of money they do for Tokyo shows in Sumo Hall and probably nor even big Osaka shows. And having a big event in the US ain't making that big of a difference for New Japan Strong either.

we'll have to wait to see the buyrates but this can help them get more eyes if they do it yearly, some fans watch AEW for the former WWE talent and don't know shyt about NJPW

i wasn't talking about buyrates, gates, casuals or none of that though i was talking strictly about the quality of said shows :manny:

Would've been nice to have Gedo out there at some point to answer questions or represent njpw. But still was interesting to see. Show was definitely a success and hopefully leads on to bigger and better things. They have endless capabilities with things like this. Not just for one or more Forbidden Door events, but for continued partnerships between both aew and njpw as well as other promotions willing to work with them. Doesn't just have to be a special once a year ppv event. These so called "dream matches" can happen more often. Like AEW can tell New Japan, hey we would like to borrow this guy for a few weeks leading up to All Out, and New Marian can be like, we want to borrow this guy for some time and put him on Wrestle Kingdom or some other major event for their promotion and things like that. This event brought new eyes to both promotions so continuously continuing the partnership is crucial. It's good for pro wrestling. Something that we never got to experience during the attitude era and Monday night wars as kids growing up. Maybe someday it'll be possible to work with WWE as well, even tho Vince can be hardheaded about that type of thing. But it brings new excitement to the industry and presents new opportunities.

Like I can just imagine a grand tournament between all the promotions. Not on no pushing one promotion over the other and everyone willing to do the job and entertain the fans. Cuz at the end of the day, whether a wrestler wins or loses, the fans won't stop cheering or jeering as long as it's a clean finish. But I imagine a big 64 man tourney, maybe even more but don't know if 128 is even possible. 16 from wwe, aew, njpw, and then maybe impact or combined with indy feds if they don't have enough. But it's not all wwe in one side or aew. But 4 guys from each company on the four different sides and every match at least in the first two rounds being against opposite promotions. That would be something interesting to see, hopefully in our lifetime. Hopefully this Forbidden Door ppv not just opened the door but encourages more people to walk thru it.
