This is how I see it.

Shakur had one performance that he should have ended sooner. Haney has had a couple of them. Haney is better offensively, Shakur is better defensively.

It’s close, I still give the edge to Shakur. If you are judging it based off of this one fight, it was a weird one. He was dominant, yet not dominant with his counters like his last fight which would have made it look more dominant.

@patscorpio We need Haney and Shakur on a card at the International Fade Center in Carson lmfao If the Fade Spirit dont take over them there throw em in the trash

lol shakur is a purist and on top of that hes going to need to face someone who will make him fight..his style is ultra defensive..its going to take a lot for him to war

haney might pull it off though

Its 1 thing if he’s fighting somebody he needs to be cautious of but this wasn’t that. After the 1st couple rounds he could clearly see the guy was no threat to him so he should have pressed the action more

That's not the type of boxer he is, he the I'm only gonna do what I have to win safety first style, because he learned from the vets how to preserve for a long career, every fight is wear and tear on your body, so if you can win exerting minimum effort you're body last longer over the years. Throwing punches over and over again wears down the tendons and ligaments in your arms and shoulders, you gotta think long term

i agree with all that...but you just dont want to see him being talked about like he was prime rigo (the negative connotation) and old man arum starts getting ideas in his head to not put him on TV anymore

Yeah, and I didn’t like that garbage intro that Sportscenter guy had, took a jab at Shakur’s performance and then went straight to some scrub MMA KO highlight.

Ward said it best, there are times to go the distance and times to make a statement.

I still think Shakur KO’s Valdez cold.

Shakur and Haney grew up watching Money May, and want to be perfect with the performance. It’s wonderful if you’re into pure boxing, yet I want to see his star grow.

So let them, when someone is good enough to force them into a real fight we will see the KO

They learned from all the vets, the less damage as possible safety first, so you can last for a long career, it's a new era boxing

He mean he dropped the guy in the 4th round

And the guys Shakur Stevenson fighting ain't that bad, these are good opponents he needs to get experience, people to wrapped up in names and not in the attributes of the guys in the ring.

People say KO this and KO that, but you can't always get the KO

The Joet performance was better/cleaner. This was a weird fight. He dominated easily yet it was in a weird forced pot shot way, the counters didn’t look as clean. He was off for sure

If you seen one Shakur fight, then you seen em all. 90% of his performances consist of sweet sciencing nikkas to death while the fans fight harder to stay awake.

but I'll take your word for it. :manny:

They’re always looking to be overly critical of young Black fighters, and some of us feed into the bull. He’s a young fighter who is still developing and we want him to fight like someone else. The minute he gets touched for trying to press and lose, they’ll label him overrated. Let him figure it out, SOG explained it well and Tim needs to shut up because he’s a bad example (stylistically) for someone as skilled as Shakur to follow.

Shyt is annoying.
