It's actually not that bad. There are no tangible financial costs to short 2 year marriages. Most judges would deem a 2 year marriage inconsequential.
She was too inpatient to get half. In most states you need at least 5 years to get spousal support for a few years and only wealth generated during the 5 yr marriage . But you need a decade to qualify for half for life, and half of wealth . She was too trigger happy or too ignorant to really plot on that dude. An American woman would have been surgical with the same play and waited the entire 10 years with lawyers on standby.
However, passport bro is definitely screwed on child support. At most, she will take 1500 a month from him for 2 kids. That was extremely sloppy of him to give her kids . I'm assuming he is on a fixed income, so he may have to go back to work until his early 70s, but neither his wife nor her kids are entitled to his existing wealth(401k, house, business ownership, stocks, etc) . She may negotiate to live in that house , but she would be required to take the mortgage that she could never afford even with child support.
