???

yes but different parts with one being considered “safer” than the others from several accounts when I was planning a trip there
Yeah cause overall Medellin is dangerous but Cartegena is still Colombia and tourist are licks. Not to victim blame but he you wouldn't want to wear a chain in either city.

Cotidamn you're a fukking moron
Why don't you post videos of older foreign tourists getting robbed and murdered in America for their jewelry if you really want to make a comparison?

Explain the neoliberalism part

neoliberal policy subverted the sovereignty of these nations to open up their markets to foreign investment, decimating the social safety nets and situating wealth in the hands of a select elite vetted and approved by the us.

these nations are poor by virtue of policy, instructed by the west to keep investments in the public at a minimal level.

The Keystone State
The problem with Americans traveling abroad is they feel superior and entitled and they think everywhere is the same. They automatically think you got money simply by you being there to begin with.
Entitled or not, its not a reason to murder somebody.

Some habits are hard to change
I have watched videos filmed in Colombia, where locals yell to a tourist "keep your phone away or they're going to rob you!!"

:heh:
Was it that short white boy? lol I think I’ve seen that video too.

nah dont put this on Venezualans..Colombians been active
He just got caught lacking
They have police patrolling all the areas flooded with tourists i.e the Clock Tower
Have you ever been there? If you have in different time periods you would know many Venezuelans are flooding both Medellin and Cartagena. Not putting blame on anyone just said it might be possibility.

Solo traveled to nearly a dozen countries in Latin America(Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, PR)

I don’t do resorts and I’m not afraid to go out of tourist areas.

I leave my IPhone 13 at wherever I’m staying and go outside with my old android

Travel with a money belt if Im moving around in the streets

Dress like a local. I’m a darker complexion breh and when I’m in panama or Colombia you couldn’t tell me from a local. Faded cargo pants, ball cap, plain t shirt and some adidas shoes. Only time you can point me out as an American is when I step out at night.

Knowing conversational Spanish goes a long way, otherwise you will be taken advantage of or be lost in the sauce

Make local connects…bumble and Instagram are great for this.

Shouldn't this all be common sense? You can even be robbed in the states.

Chalk it up as the clout demon.
