who are ppvs catered to? the casual fan. Floyd was no superstar after the Diego fight. he was a commodity in the boxing world, but that's it. do you think the casual fan gave two shyts about tonight's forty (Rios-alvarado)? fukk no. the boxing world did. outside of boxing Floyd was unknown just like tonight's classic.. Hip-hop heads weren't even up on him at that point. they were still swinging from Roy's nuts and trying to hype up Judah.

what makes your point pointless is the fact that outside of tyson, de la hoya, pacquiao and mayweather, who are the biggest PPV attractions of the last 20 years?

the casual fan in boxing matters little since a household boxing name is hard to come by in the first place. in the sports world, mayweather was well known going into the olympic trials, the coverage was all over him. theres a household name in boxing once every 10 fukking years.

floyd was a on-par with his ppv's prior to DLH.

Consider this, he did 350 with gatti, 325 with judah, 350 with baldomir. thats industry standard, guys like morales, barrera, hopkins were all drawing similar numbers in that period. he wasnt a super high seller, but outside of de la hoya, neither was anyone else. go ahead an pull the numbers. pull trinidad/wright. Hopkins/Taylor. Hell, pull up Campas/De La Hoya.

more lies? dudes only notable losses were augie sanchez and martin castillo (twice which still boggles my fukking mind) i think he has 7 losses total id have to google it...in the amatuers. Keep in mind i was actually boxing at this time, him and vargas were the two guys everyone was banking on to bring home the gold.

guys like antonio margarito were doing 16k when floyd was doing fukking 325k in their respective ppvs. i guess since im such a liar though, its all lies.

@lukie would definately confirm what im talking about

and none of that had Floyd a superstar after he beat Diego which is what you absurdly claimed. you said it yourself, he was industry standard. superstars are beyond that standard which is why they are superstars. you ethered yourself.

400k in ppv. and no, he wasn't a superstar after Corrales. he was relatively unknown.

:merchant: how da hell was floyd unknown

his ppv with de la hoya had a alltime record 2.5 mil buys:what:

your tellin me the casual fan tuned in and broke all time boxing records to watch de la hoya fight a unknown?:what:

obviously oscar completed the process of him being a main attraction
but he was definitely on da way there and for damn sure wasnt unknown
but either da casual boxing fan, or da hardcore

also, him whopping gatti got him ALOT of new fans/haters

after the diego fight he was a star in the boxing world, after the oscar fight he became a household name

a superstar in the boxing world..i guess im wrong huh?

I asked you to NAME HOUSEHOLD NAMES in the last 20 years

TYSON
PACQUIAO
MAYWEATHER
DE LA HOYA

Thats it. trinidad=superstar roy jones jr =superstar etc

but these guys constantly drew or draw in the million ppv range very few people do this.

i feel like you arent listening to me so ill stop. mayweather was a nobody before de la hoya..right

which is why his fight with mayweather outdrew the following people

DLH VS Trinidad
DLH VS Vargas
DLH VS Hopkins
DLH VS Chavez

im sure de la hoya accounted for 2million ppvs, a range HE NEVER hit with anyone else.

so you're gonna act like 24/7 had nothing to do with that promotion? the fight itself was heavily hyped more than any other up to that time. Floyd played an excellent villain role and many people tune in for that. or are you telling me that just prior, Floyd was selling Milly ppvs before Oscar? as has been stated, he was selling in the standard range. there are very few boxing superstars. Floyd is one now, but to say he was one after the diego fight up to before dlh is a straight up lie.

floyd came up with tmt on his own. for his group of friends. he was reppin "TMT" long before it ever became a promotional company. I don't think 50 being out of the picture would change that.

But it's 50's promotional company, so with the supposed fall out why promote another promoter?

nah i think tmt promotions is dead. 50 just applied for a promotional license a couple weeks ago. I don't think he's gonna be using the tmt promotions name anymore.
