You basically proved my point. Maybe 50s no longer in the position to ever make HIS music ever pop, but with his money, he can work the shyt like a hobby and invest in the young heads, keeping him relevant (what he really wants) and using that leverage for his own. Capitalizing on someone else's 15 minutes of fame that the youth are into (Shmurda) , while also pushing these youthful, ignorant acts, with wisdom, to stardom.
And the 50 vs. Ross beef came at a time 50 was already oversaturated and beef wasnt really in style. With the Chief Keefs, Twitter beefs, and America's fascination with underdogs, success stories (potentially Bobby & Remy) and the friendly nature of hip hop kind of being played out, there's no better time to come back.
Less lashing out at any & everybody, while still focusing on some rivals and pushing the young cats. It's perfect timing / marketing. Not to mention Ross is played out and definitely declining. Ppl aren't as opposed to 50 winning again (contrary to coli cacs beliefs) as he once was. Drake bringing him out, at peace w Nas, Joe & Jada, and with multiple lucrative businesses... It's his for the taking. He even said himself he'll probably never give up on music until it's too late.

True, but 50's main aim and goal was to destroy all of NY rap and be the last man standing..Jay never actively pursued other rappers, he beefed with people he had crossed paths with. He didnt have time really for other rappers. He also beefed with people that were lyrically on his level. 50 was going at those far far superior than him, and even those beneath him. 50 killed the vibe and spirit of NY rap, and even he is irrelevant right now so what did he really accomplish??
He accomplished kicking Puffy out Biggies Throne and becoming the King of New York.
Ask Nas he will tell you 50 is King, If Jay-Z disagree he should catch the fade with 50.....
50 was never king and never will be..since the mid 90s, there has ever only been 3 men who had the stature and technical skills to claim the throne with no arguments, and thats Big, Nas and Jay..
Cam'ron was never King on NY but was supremely gifted as an Mc..Kool G, Kane, Krs as well. 50 is not on any of these guys level.
Technical skills mean nothing in regards to the King of New York.

This is about music fukkboi, if your criteria for what makes a great rapper in NY is muscle and beef skills then you have no business in hip hop and are the reason the music has gone to shyt and become a parody of itself. then nominate Maino Tru Life and the other lowlifes as King then.
Nas, Jay, and Big are revered and highly respected in NY because they had superior technical skills that made people take notice when they spat. 50 is garbage, weak singy drawl type flow that he stole from Ja Rule and hes just an offensive presence..
Nas and Jay can easily go gold tomorrow, they are legends. 50 is a C level rapper that caught a lucky break with a Dre beat and Eminem connections but even that has been unable to sustain him. He was a flash in the pan, and it shows today. Nas and Jay can always rely on their God given rhyming abilities, 50 cannot! he needs a gimmick, he cant make it on raw skill alone because his skills are weak to begin with.
Maino & Tru Life both suck and they don't have King of NY money, you gotta be in the 100 million dollar club for the title at this point.
