A high profile lawsuit or revelation often leads to high profile criminal prosecutions. Probably common, but US Attorneys, esp. high profile ones in Manhattan and LA shyt like that, they look for these kinds of cases. Bankman Fried is another similar example.

Epstein would NOT have been prosecuted, except that the US Attorney at Southern District had instructed his staffers to look for stories where the office could make a difference. When they brought him the Epstein reporting, they ran with it. He said lets do it.

Elizabeth Holmes is another one. Wall Street Journal ran that story. SEC filed charged. and then the feds charged her.

The R Kelly was same time frame. The doc in January 2019, the indictment was in August 2019.

So, when Cassie filed this lawsuit, I could see this coming. There's for sure posts from me around November 2023 saying this exact thing. I told girls I told my mom, my boys, any time this was mentioned, I said Southern District Damian Williams, criminal indictment. That's how I knew the time frame. About 6-9 months from lawsuit to indictment.

I don't have an opinion either which way, but it is not difficult to understand how pissing off someone with a lot of resources can work against you.

They have means of addressing the resource issue when it comes to investigations. They maybe at the dinner table with people whose say matters when it comes to making it a departments focus. They maybe able unearth certain information and motivate witnesses to come forward.
