without a doubt i would consider someone poverty if i went to their house and they didnt have cable

i think you poor people get so used to not having it you forget what its like to be normal. lets be real here you have a dead TV sitting there unless you fumble around with a controller for a shytty movie on Netflix. i have 200+ channels with Comcast i watch everything and always have the tv on. shyt i have so many options i dont even watch them all because i got the best channels going on at all times

its really non debatable people without cable are lesser people than people with it

Somewhere in here it seems like you're bragging b/c you overpay for something you don't use.

You're winning out here flushing money down the toilet breh :blessed: :win:

if you live alone and don't have cable and your parents got cable at their home......

that means you can get comcast xfinitytv, time warner cable tv, all the channels through your computer for free. (whatever cable service) i got all the regular channels. plus premium channels and apps like hbo go, showtime, everything for free through my computer. i don't even live with them

i advise some of you to make an free online account for your parents cable provider. you get everything free and don't even live with them :win:

Came to post.

I have Xfinity, HBOGO, Netflix, and Amazon Prime video all because of my immediate family members....:win:

Only thing I pay for is internet....and xbox live....:beli:

News and Sports are mostly broadcast OTA. I have rabbit ears that let me watch literally 95% of the sporting events I want to watch in HD on Fox, CBS, ABC, and NBC.

I don't know how it is with other providers, but I only pay for internet with Comcast and I get digital channels via coaxial cable that's running in the house already.

I don't even need an antennae. I just hooked up the cable that was running in the house and scanned for channels and I get all the local shyt for free and in HD.

Now the retarded thing about this is, that if I were to call Comcast up and ask for a package for basic local cable they would charge me for a small little box that isn't even in HD.

But right now, I get CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox, WGN, The U, AND Comcast Sportsnet all coming straight from the coaxial cable in 2 rooms...

:skip:

I'm in Chicago so I literally get every local sports broadcast. I'm talking about all the Bulls, White Sox, Cubs, Bears etc... it's crazy. There's only a few occasions where there will be a game that isn't on my local stations.

Add to the fact that the ESPN app on 360 allows you to stream live TV with a subscribers credentials... it's a wrap. I have been going on over a year in my house and I'm a big sports fan and I'm well fed. Only thing I bought was League Pass because I have 3 Rokus and a 360 to get them to my TVs in various rooms.

All ISPs will do is up their internet service rates if it continues...they aint dumb.

Exactly. And most cable providers are also internet providers. They'll find a way to maintain their profits regardless.

Google Fiber is here to save us all.

Let those ISPs raise their prices and Google gonna eat till they vomit :blessed:
4G from cell phone providers is starting to penetrate through the country as well. You might be looking at a situation in where you have at least 6 options to get your internet from...:wow2:

In fact when I first started messing around with this idea I was able to watch netflix (Not-HD) without any buffering issues on Sprint's garbage ass 3G network at least 3x a week and they did not say a DAMN THING. I will be on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network fairly soon and I am sure I will be able to watch netflix in HD with no issues. Going with that 10GB - $70 per month no overage package along with my simple mobile $50 unlimited package package and I will be paying about what people some pay just for their cell phone service and no contract.

The only REAL issue I see is with all the gamers in here...I cannot imagine playing online multiplayer this way, but its something that I have never done much...outside of Bad Company.

The cable companies are going to start looking really :flabbynsick: soon

Thread is giving me confidence in doing this. Just recently talked to my boy about making the jump. I'll be in the market for a new computer by this summer so the timing could be perfect.

What are the options for streaming NFL games?

Depending on what you want to do. Local games are free OTA in HD with an antennae.
