your stars are but dust on my shoes
Most impressive thing was his stamina. This was a high paced fight and he didn't slow down at all. Canelo is back.

I think he fought a really intelligent fight.

He didn't load up on all his shots like we've seen in the past, which obviously helped his stamina.

When have you ever seen Benavidez fight a puncher, to know what he will do? All that punches in bunches, has been against opponents thats light in the ass. Ever think for a sec, why you haven't seen him in there with any?
Who is he fighting next? Lol

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Canelo isn’t nearly as explosive as he used to be, so a fight with David would be a huge war of attrition. With this non-prime version of Canelo, I do think you could have a lot of success throwing combos at him—because he is actually taking punishment and just waiting to land some wide looping punch off a counter (which most of the time does not land).

Regardless, he either needs to give up the belts or fight David.

He’s not fighting at 175 permanently. He said he’s not letting Canelo slow up his career. There was an opportunity at 175, so he’s going for it but he’s at 168er. You’re on this big everyday. You know this already.

He’s doing exactly what people say fighters should do when someone doesn’t want to fight them. “You gotta carve out your own legacy.”

David said, bet.

Well if he was interested in belts he would have just found another opportunity at 168 like Morrel who he avoided. Now that he moved up he took himself out of belt contention and will be back waiting to win the canelo lottery

No. Smith is a hack...he has failed both times stepping up. Benavidez vs the Bivol/Beterbiev winner.

His 2 step up fights - were both top P4P fighters in the world. Losing to prime Canelo and Beterbiev, don't make you a hack

Bivol/Beterbiev winner won't be settled, until late this year, or early next yr.

Benavidez needs another opponent for later this year. Smith is available and makes alot of sense

If he's truly carving his own legacy the why would he NOT be going to 175 permanently? Why wouldn't he be going for titles there instead of going back to 168 and putting himself back in a position for the "Canelo is slowing his career" excuse..
