I just finished this show, and I liked it a lot. It was a really fun show. Great production values. Really liked Dustin vs Cody, that was great. I wonder whose idea it was to show crowd reactions during the match though. I wasn't a fan of that.

I do think people are going to be fatigued watching so many highspots on a regular basis though. They're going to need to rely less on highspots and flips as time goes on. Also, not a lot of heels on this roster right now. Looking forward to the next few shows and their weekly TV show in the fall.

Hell of a show...

Keeping it real, though....I still think "Rebellion" is the event of the year, so far. Won't be surprised if Slammiversary surpasses Rebellion. Impact just does this pay per view shyt like no other.

I will say....Using the hottest non-WWE guy of the past 5 years as a crash test dummy for Jericho's new "I'm getting too old for this shyt" finisher and then having him be a crash test dummy again for Moxley THIS EARLY is shaky business to me.

I would've let Moxley lay Jericho and the ref out....then leave us wanting a physical interection b/w he and Omega down the line.

Jericho-Hangman will be fire...and Im not sure who goes over. But Omega-Hangman...with Omega turning heel and making babyface Hangman chase his old head for the title would've been more appealing to me. But I'm happy about AEW right now, so it's whatever.

I mean.....

I don’t know if that’s a dope idea or a wack idea....

But I do know if they went that route.... that is sooooo WWE, WCW, TNA, ROH, ECW, GFW, NWA.

And that’s what im talking about where they are gonna have to choose who to cater to.

It’s appealing only for the sake that it’s been done soooo many times and always successful. But doing that isn’t new or innovative. And I get it, some thing they will have no choice but to reharsh and put their AEW spin on it. But if you truly wanna “change the world” you gotta experiment with something different and give us something that may be odd, different, and unappealing to us

Less important note but absolutely necessary... They either need to cut the anthem altogether or get someone else to sing it next time cuz that shyt was the worst rendition I ever heard in my life :pachaha:

Breh, when they said they sang during Hamilton, I was thinking "Really? These cacs were on Broadway?"

You could find better singers on a subway platform

I skipped that shyt. I don't give a fukk about the anthem or who is singing it.

Man that ending of the Cody vs Dustin match sent chills...I'm not gonna lie.

It was a real good show but I'm not really a big fan of matches with an insane amount of spots and kickouts. I don't want AEW to be soley just that. That's the only thing I'm worried about. Other than that, I think it has great potential once they work out the kinks.

Yeah.....that new Omega theme isn't hitting.

I'm a fan of his....he's a great worker....and he has tons of charisma...while being pretty good on the mic...

But it hit me on Saturday night that the main reason I like Kenny is "Devil's Sky" :mjlol:...

It's my 2nd fav. wrasslin theme of all time....it fits him to a tee....heel or baby. Khan gotta spend some money to get that from New Japan.

Yeah, noticed that too. Faces entered the arena from the right and heels from the left, and I thought "Almost everyone is entering from the right :dwillhuh:"

Going to be interesting to see who they position as heels, cause right now there's only three real heels on the roster: Jericho, MJF and that treh. I thought SCU were heels because they seemed so douchey, but the crowd seems to love them :yeshrug:

Do we really even need “heels and faces” that much in wrestling though?

As long as everyone can put on great matches, is “that” aspect really that important?

I say this as a person recently into NJPW.

A lot of their guys or even factions don’t really seem to be straight up “clear cut heels” themselves and it works.

When Okada is going up against Tanahashi/Naito/Sanada/Ishii.

None of them to me seem like heels just 2 bad asses colliding.

And they did say they want this to be more sports based, well in sports. You root for who you root for but there really are no heels and faces

It's weird how hateable motherfukkers be getting the biggest pops of the night which is why I tip my hat to MJF for somehow managing to get all the heat on himself

Enzo Cass and Ryback as a three man heel faction could bring some fukkery being ex-WWE guys mad at Cody for "not looking out" and not giving them first contract offer's when he was putting AEW together

they could be both anti AEW and anti WWE looking at the rest of the AEW roster as a bunch of "little flippy geeks" they can easily run through and we know Enzo and Ryback would have no problems shytting Vince, HHH,
