This was a good match, Hangman held his own and showed he really improved over the past couple of years. A damn shame this match won't happen in Vegas because this could have been a good showcase of both men of the AEW premier.

It's smart but I'm laughing that Page is taking advantage of Red Dead Redemption 2's popularity and renamed his piledriver finisher "The Dead Eye"
It's so refreshing to hear actual great commentary for a match, WWE needs to be deeply ashamed for what Michael Cole, Renee Young and Corey Graves be bickering about weekly
Crowd was really into it and that AEW brand is over all around

There's really something both and 
to AEW booking themselves into a corner they should have realized 5 fukking months ago, knowing full well a month ago that PAC wasn't on the card, but waiting until the week before the show to announce it and even then doing it through dirt sheets instead of any of their official outlets
and
Starrcast, while not officially an AEW event, definitely is AEW adjacent and endorsed, had all of their headliners pulled, had WWE allow them to screen the Bret/Magee holy grail match and then airing a doc and the match on WWE Network a week before, Ric Flair scheduling a surgery the week before the event probably knowing he was not going to be able to make it and his son-in-law who is the organizer for Starrcast saying his health issue was overblown and he's fine and definitely going to be at Starrcast so continuing to promote him being there until a few days later when it's announced no, Ric's condition is pretty serious, he won't be there, and Conrad basically threw him under the bus saying Ric lied to the family about the severity of his health issues with 2 days to find a suitable replacement...after having also lost Kurt Angle and Undertaker. Also note that, much like AEW not announcing their match was off the card through their official channels, Starrcast's website is still promoting Ric appearing at multiple events during the 3 days.
As if you needed to know this was truly a carny outfit.

I'm not blaming AEW for Starrcast at all. I was making the point that it's
that both events have straight carny bullshyt, and not only carny bullshyt, but very similar carny bullshyt of having something they know is going to be off the card/event and still promoting it for an extra few days anyway because they held off on reporting the news on their official channels and instead did it through Dave Meltzer. Starrcast got decimated by WWE and Conrad being shady.It's not a good omen for the future of AEW and it's adjacent events when they're already doing shyt like this was my point.

I don't disagree that they could have handled Page/PAC better but if that's "carny bullshyt" then what isn't carny bullshyt? 
You think promoting a match and talent they knew wasn't going to be there for at least a month ahead of time, then leaking the news to Meltzer to put out instead of doing it themselves and continuing to promote the match (including still being prominently featured, in fact FIRST FEATURED, in a hype video a day after the news broke, and not announcing it through their channels for another 2 days after that isn't carny bullshyt?
