Luke Harper was very much over, and instead of a triple threat at the least, we got Bray vs. Randy and bugs projected onto the ring.

Black shirt Luke was over as a face, and it just...disappeared.
It pisses me off how badly WWE underutilized Luke Harper. He was getting cheers against AJ fukking Styles on Smackdown for crying out loud. He also was one of the few dudes on the roster that has managed to get a good match out of Randy Orton.

Let me go ahead and throw up my predictions right quick, off-top:

-Shawn Spears vs Dustin Rhodes:
Spears. Needs a noteworthy win.

-Best Friends vs Private Party:
Best Friends (they're due and deserve it)

-Penelope Ford vs Kris Statlander:
Statlander (though I'd have picked Britt if she was still in the match)

-Casino Ladder Match:
Darby Allin. Mystery man is...Brian Cage? I don't know...fukk it. Brian Cage.

-MJF vs Jungle Boy:
MJF. Good showing by Jungle Boy, but MJF hasn't been beaten in singles. Build toward Luchasaurus vs Wardlow.

-Nyla Rose vs Hikaru Shida:
Nyla. Way too early to stop surefire heat. Shida needs to prove herself more as a character.

-Cody vs Lance Archer (TNT Championship):
Cody wins the TNT championship, which will go on to overshadow the World title.

As Jake hinted, Lance takes a swing at Mike Tyson, and it ultimately costs him.

-Jon Moxley vs Brodie Lee (AEW Championship):
Jon Moxley wins...by DQ, maybe? A clean win wouldn't really shock me but you probably would want to protect Brodie with the minions because the feud's been pret-ty mid. Let dude leave with his dignity and Moxley gets the physical title back. He's basically squashed all the goons with little resistance.

-Stadium Stampede:
Inner Circle survives...thanks to last-minute interference by a debuting FTR...:jbhmm:

If there were anytime a DQ finish would be the best outcome for all parties it'd be this specific event. There aren't fans in the crowd that would shyt all over that finish, it's too soon to give Brodie the belt (he's saved the Dark Order angle singlehandedly and him being champ with a bunch of cult goons would be interesting), and probably too soon to take the belt off Moxley.

If they have 75k people paying $50 for Jon Mickey-Brodie Lee and a taped stadium fight with no stakes, AEW is in the free and clear for years to come. I would only possibly consider buying this at $20.

Part of the reason Brodie Lee is in the main event right now is cause they've been working with like half their roster the past couple months. They probably don't even want him to lose this early but it is what it is. They didn't realy have options.

They could have put any other random heel in this spot though since it was an open challenge by Moxley, they set up the Brodie match the week they went live again & got a bunch of people back. They could have just as easily had MJeff accept & not backed themselves into a corner of beating Brodie before he even really gets started.

I don't care for Matt Hardy when it comes to actually wrestling but this character is fukking entertaining and brilliant. He does a fantastic job of utilizing social media. A lot of these AEW talents do a great job using their social media platform.

I dont watch aew like that but I hope they dont do what tna used do it, which is bring in previous wwe talent and immediately put them in the main event. Because right now (just by looking at the card) they're doing it to Brodie lee

First AEW champion = Y2J aka the same dude who combined the WWF and WCW titles 2 decades ago :francis:

His first defense vs Stardust

He drops it to Dean Ambrose

Dean first defense vs Jack Swagger

Now it’s vs Luke Harper

:francis:

And I fukks with AEW but so far every AEW title match has been between former WWE stars even tho most the roster are not from WWE :dwillhuh:
