Hard to dispute any of these. They still have no clue what to do with a Superman movie. Hell, The Movie and Supes Returns had damn near the same plot; as did Man of Steel and Supes II.

I still don't get the need to do Batman's origin (or Superman for that matter)...and NO ONE wants to see Uncle Ben die again.

If anything they should change shyt up once in a while and make a villain movie...a doom movie with doom and the protagonist for example. Thats one thing hollywood or america don't have the balls to do very often. Make a movie or game with the bad guy as the lead.
I've been saying that a Doctor Doom origins story about him: losing his parents, meeting Reed Richards, his 'accident' fukking up his face, him learning magic, himmbuilding his suit, and him taking over Latveria gaining his diplomatic immunity would be dope as hell :wow:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I could be wrong but they probably do focus groups on this. And to play devils advocate.

1. Because of gaps in between movies (mainly reboots), studios are looking to attract new audiences to generate new revenue.
2. Most people that watch comic book movies don't read the comics and don't know the back story.
3. Most of these movies use the same narrative with subliminal undertones.

At the end of the day you can make whatever movie you want, BUT the writing has to be good enough and it has to make sense. As for the movies listed, that's a indictment to the studio's that hold the rights to the characters. If Marvel owned Spiderman for example, they probably would've done an initial origin story to incorporate the character into the MCU and he would've been 25 by now or some shyt. Fantastic 4 needed to do an origin because they re did the entire backstory with new characters.

X-Men is the only comic flick that never really did origins (other than that shytty ass wolverine and they were merely trying to squeeze hugh jackman's character for all the money they could get). Studios play it safe and do what works. If they keep making money they not gonna stop what they're doing. Marvel is the only ones that's actually being progressive. Just imagine how long it will be before they would need to do an Iron Man reboot.

Villains don't sell if there's no hero to stop them so a standalone villain movie wouldn't do great business with the casual crowd. Peter Parker is more like Peter Pan movie wise.
