4 Reasons Black People Don’t Play TRPGs

I played D&D ONE time
Start up I worked at back in the day hosted a D&D night for who ever wanted to be down. Of course I was the only black employee that showed up
I went in thinking shyt would be like a normal board game, probably be home by 7pm after a couple games.......
That shyt was going until like 3am before I just had to bail and leave. . The whole dungeon master role and people essentially making up the story as we went along seemed corny to me too

I actually had a group of black brehs and one brehettes who played DND for about 2 years.

We stopped due to COVID but shyt is unbelievably fun. Black people make everything better and we had a DM who was pretty fluid and open to our absolute bullshyt.

Food, green, drinks, and loads of laughs.

on my old ship, white guys would be playing magic the gathering on the mess decks

Maybe it has to do with everything is based off white people . Before COVID an group of my team would go down to the lobby and play until they got the boot from someone complaining about them

I mean I lived near stores that specialize in tabletop shyt like DND and Warhammer. I really wanted to get into Warhammer but I just don't have any friends that are into such things.

Like I could download Tabletop Simulator to see what's popping but I'm not that much of a nerd

I mean board games in general have a different vibe versus a video game. LIke its hard to describe but there's something about imagination and physical interaction that truly outweighs the concept of a video game session.

I have cultist simulator on steam, love the writing. Hate how I die easily. Never heard any of the other ones.

The face to face interaction hits different. The rules are a little more complex so its fun to navigate them.

i put youtube videos of them playing before and watched for background noise. it was pretty funny to see people wild out as a character

Two of my close friends put me on MTG and Warhammer 40k universe. Space Marine on the 360 made me take interest in the universe and I’m waiting to get the cash to buy some Ultramarines and paint.
