That's because Christians pastors of ALL color believe that Heaven and the afterlife is the real reward for living on earth, believing in God, and living a good life. So if a pastor gets shot and killed in the pastors mind the killer is sending him to heaven the ultimate reward.

As much as atheist and other religions don't believe in Jesus or his existence Christians do and the majority of them feel the same way as the pastors above comments.
