If All In isn't the show of the year, will it be seen as a flop? By the same token, if this isn't the show of the year next year, will it be a flop even if it sells out MSG? Because having ROH involved generally means bleh.

I think whether they accept a WWE offer or not would depend on how successful "All In" is.

All In is already a success, it's been sold out for a while now. Not sure what you mean.

I never thought of All In as a "best show of the year" type of event so I don't think it will be seen as a flop at all. I think it's more of a celebration of indy wrestling and the card kind of shows it.

The MSG show is different imo, as it will be going against a heavily promoted NXT show and a Mania card. If this "G1 Supercard" is the third (or lower) best show of the weekend, it will probably be seen as a missed opportunity and disappointment.

I cant see Mania being better than this show in any way whatsoever. NXT i could see some people thinking is a better show overall because it will be alot tighter/shorter. This will probably be close to 5 hours.

The thing that will realy make this look bad is if the Young Bucks arent there. If they are at NXT instead that would be extra fukked up. ROH should realize that and do everything they can to keep them around

The more events the Bucks/Cody run, the more they're going to be worth to WWE to get them off the market.

Some very interesting tidbits from the WON:

I did not know WWE wasn't selling out MSG consistently, Vince gotta be pissed as fukk at this

Biggest test yet to see if Cokeboy still gives a fukk or if that FOX/Saudi money plus the XFL has him :manny: about this whole thing. OG Vince would go for the jugular.

It's also a test to see if the Young Bucks have a price or not. My guess is Kenny will say no to any offer unless his Golden Lovers angle with Ibushi comes to an end at Wrestle Kingdom. Cody I can totally see going back for the right offer, but for this kind of show, he would be the less impactful of the possible signings.

I wonder how worried Meji is about this. They keep striking out with the dates of their "solo" shows and the promotion for them, no one cares about the Long Beach show.

They better not get lazy with the card, those fans paid to see a show that's worth a damn

Still find it insane to think ROH would even try this if they didn't pretty much already have those guys locked up. Considering their already making their contracts a thing on Being the Elite, I figure their staying & it's already a done deal :yeshrug:

NJPW should have waited a few more months to come back to Cali. This is already like the 4th time they've come over in a year & a half without leaving Cali & somehow decided it was a good idea to come so close to All In & BOLA when their all pulling from the same fanbase. Should have went somewhere else like Vegas or something if they were so set on coming back already.

I'm not mad at all

I-dont-believe-you.gif

I'm just wondering if people will downplay the accomplishments of either or both shows if they don't knock it out of the park in the ring

First it was "I wonder how they'll shoot around the half empty building:mjpls:" now it's "I hope everyone likes the matches:mjgrin:".

I'm surprised they sold out, I'm not mad they sold out. I'm also surprised but not mad about All In selling out. It's obviously good for all involved and fans alike. Considering NJ seems way hotter than ROH and only did half of the Cow Palace, it's a bit of a surprise to see the other shows do double or more the attendance.

I know Vince might want them just to put a foot on ROH/NJPW's necks, but I really cannot see The Young Bucks make any kind of dent in WWE.

The main roster is a tag team graveyard, and at their size, Vince will book them like Kaientai. And the thing is, yeah Vince could offer mega money deals just to raid the competition, but you start paying guys like the Bucks big doe, then you've fukked up the whole pay structure of the company, and the whole roster will want to re-up. It's not really sustainable. Omega, I get. But The Bucks? I'm a fan, but their ceiling is real low at WWE the way tag teams are treated.

The problem with signing the Bucks and Omega is that they're going to want control of their merch and storylines. Even if somehow they decided to send all of them to NXT and truly elevate it as a third brand equal to Smackdown and Raw, I can't see that happening.

The problem with the Long Beach show is when it's happening, like someone else said. It's the same month as All In and Battle of Los Angeles. Not only are those shows once that were announced earlier, but they actually have announced cards and talent, and people expect that major stuff will happen at both. The NJPW show has no announced talent or matches, and no one expects anything major to happen there, since NJPW saves all that stuff for their home audience.

If there's any major side effect to the MSG show selling out and not any of the prior NJPW shows, it MIGHT be that ROH flexes a little bit of that leverage in their relationship with NJPW. But more likely, it'll just change how NJPW schedules their US shows in that they might start announcing talent/matchups ahead of time, space the shows out a bit more, and vary the location.

i think i put this in another thread too, but i honestly dont know about going to this show.

its one thing to watch with the brehs on here and have a Watch Party, but its another thing entirely to goto the show.

i havent been to a live event since ROH in 2005 at hammerstein (i was 22)

My one piece of advice is to get loaded or a strong buzz before you go. There is gonna be 3 types of people with you in the crowd: straight edge cringe neckbeards that actually act like it's real, chill people that are just there to meme and have a good time (lots drunk and blazed, also start the best chants), and older people who you don't know why the fukk they are there but they're cool.

I would goto this show if you can, it's gonna be worth it.
