It had the seasons where you could progress through armor pieces and colors, but in a First person game, cosmetics are gonna feel like “nothing”
On the contrary, in a game like Halo the cosmetics are about the flex when you're constantly killing somebody in such a small grouping. The emotional attachment is on the opponent because they either get riled up when they see you coming, or when you teabag them and they never saw you coming :dame:

Now the only thing that opponent can do is come back with a gun :manny:

People would riot if they had unlockable weapons or tools/powers etc.

They either gone have to let those people riot, or sell this like an old school multiplayer game. With content packs and such.
The progression system was way too slow and unrewarding. The ranks and nameplates weren't that noticeable and the game just had this odd barebones feeling coupled with a lack of content made it easy to just fall off the game for good. It's like if the game had a ton of content, the progression system issue would've been less noticeable.

The game had a decent amount of content at launch compared to previous Halo games.

Problem is, today there’s so much more competition and those games have like entire villages worth of people working on them. 343i is “big” but COD literally has like 8 studios working on content, no way to compete with that, on top of the fact that the engine seemed slow at iterating stuff.

Hopefully the move to UE5 helps that, but they are gonna have to put lots of people in this game to compete with the big GAAS of today.

That was cool in the past, but this is the Fornight generation. They are used to The Rock jumping out of clouds shooting rockets at Travis Scott.

Halo gone have to let go of some of the :flabbynsick: traditionalists and have a little fun.

Lack of forge mode, custom games and game modes made the content lacking compared to other Halo games.

Not having Forge mode at launch was a miss, but what they ended up doing with it went well and beyond any Halo game before it.

Lots of cool forge stuff now. Don’t even know if it’s possible but i hope they can bring at least the forge stuff forward.

The only reason forge modes launched with other Halo games, was because they were iterations of the previous game.

Starting over again, content is gonna be a problem again :francis:

No game launches with that much content anymore, expectations for Halo are unreasonable.

Full single player campaign, Full Multiplater mode with dozens of game types. Forge mode, custom games, lots of maps.

No game doing all that right now. They are gonna have to split this stuff up.

Umm, COD games have been doing that for years. SP, MP, tons of modes and maps, zombies/coop etc.

Gears 5 launched wtih a ton of content at launch. This is not an excuse for Halo to rush. They rushed the launch.

Naw COD separated their stuff some games launch without stuff and add it later, some games don’t have single player.
There’s also a lot of carry over content in COD games.

And none of this like the Forge where users get to make their own content.

Beyond that a COD campaign and a Halo campaign have VERY different expectations and results.

Halo launching with a 6 hour campaign and a bunch of old maps would get Killed.

Gears 5 launched a long time ago. Today, when games are taking 7+ years to come out not very many if any games are doing all this.

I can bet you if Halo 7 launches with EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink, it won't have this issue of people not playing it no more. It simply lacked content.

Yeah, but then Microsoft can't release an alpha build as "release ready" and repackage standard modes as GaaS updates. :troll:

I be real with you. You're making excuses.

Gears 5 launched 2 years before Halo did. Halo was supposed to launch 1 year after Gears.
