Splitscreen is not as popular as it was back in the old days , but if game developers like 343 and Larian offered it ...is because there must still be a demand for it.

You could use the same logic to say it’s not that important if they’re willing to leave it out of games altogether or shipped with a broken version like with modern warfare.

Hell, the Sony Stan narrative in bg3 was that they should just ship without it .

Even us guys with kids aren’t split screening with them. They have their own devices

If it was a feature in every game it should always be an option. It’s a lot of games that would benefit from splitscreen or full story co op.

You basically have to cut the games graphics/scope in half to accommodate split screen.

With how cheap and accessible the internet and screens are these days, it’s not worth the sacrifice to offer splitscreen.

Some games are built around the idea and benefit from it, something like “it takes 2” was great, but most games don’t nobody wanna be playing on a little half screen when you can just play online co-op
