The Infamous
Superstar
I think streamers/youtubers underperforming was inevitable and was trending that way in WZ1 anyway.
The content has become stale. I don't think the actual playerbase and number of people playing would reflect this sentiment.
Streamers who play solos are doing better than ever. I think people are just tired of watching 4 top 50 players 4 stack and mop pubs up all day. Oh another kill race? So fun.
The streamers want to blame the game but to me it's mostly them. They kind of made their own bed by making their content revolve around pub stomping.
Don't tell me playing strategically is boring either, it's just not. Those solo 100k games were some of the best viewing ever, and everyone slowed down and played for the win. Iron has some of the most consistent viewership #'s in the space, He prioritizes strategy and efficiency. Pub G was one of the biggest games in the world and on twitch for YEARS, and never relied on kill counts.
There is no shame in playing a BR like a BR.
The numbers are down across the board, even with content creators who don't pub stomp (Timthetatman, Courage, Lucky, JGod etc.).
I think it's a mix of reasons:
- Gameplay is slow and boring
- Burnout on Warzone and BRs in general.
- Game is practically in a beta stage (game crashes, bugs, UI, etc.)
- Content is stale, but so is the game itself.
